::Eric walked in, late, to the eighth period Art class. He looked dead tired and was holding his head, completely ignoring the new girl He didn't even notice Alexa sitting in his seat. All he did was walk over to the first free seat he could find and sat down, pulling out his sketch book and starting to draw what the teacher had put in the center of the room for them to sketch. His pencil glided across the paper, an utterly blank look on his face. He eventually stopped and put his head down on the desk, closing his eyes::
::"Excuse me for a second"::Candace put down her art supplies and walked over to Eric, walking her fingers up the back of his neck::"Hello?"::she said, a smirk dancing across her face::
::Eric turned his head up to look at her::"Hello there!"::Candace said, looking down into his face, smiling brightly::
::”Hey”::Eric replied, sitting up to look at her from eye level. He looked beat, literally. He had the appearance that he had just come out of a tough fight::
::”What happened?”::Candace asked, stroking his cheek. She was worried, but wasn’t going to make a scene in front of the class::
::Eric eyes shifted around the class to make sure no one was eavesdropping::”I was attacked”::he whispered, trying to keep her from freaking out::
::”Atta-!”::Candace began, but was cut off by his hand shooting over her mouth::”Yes, but I don’t know by whom”:: He said, letting her speak after he knew no one had heard her::The lights went out as I was crossing the gym. Next thing I knew, I was caught in a fight with someone, someone quick and strong”::He lifted his sleeve to show where a wound, that had healed into a slight cut, so far, was::
::”Are you okay?”::she asked, running a finger over the cut. She was extremely worried now::
::”I’ll be fine”::He said, looking up at her with a small smile::”Trust me”::
::”I do”::She replied, looking down at him, still concerned, but a little calmer:: The two of them continued drawing, packed up at the end and left the class. Candace had to go to the store for her mom, so Eric kissed her goodbye and they went separate ways, Eric going with Chris to pick Sonia and Reya up from their prep school::
::Elsewhere, Alexa met up with her brothers. She walked up to the firelight of the vast house. In the light was a boy, looking no older than 16. He had short, white hair and was a bit brawny. There was a slight scratch on his cheek that flared in the firelight::”And what happened to you, Bastion?”::She asked, looking over at him::”I’m not a dog person”::He replied, insinuating that he got attacked by a stray::”You know, you’d get along better with animals if you didn’t go looking for a fight all the time”::Came a voice from the shadows. It was a young voice, of no one older than the other two vampires. He kept to the darkness and watched the others::”Get some sleep. We have to start getting up early for school now”::

And as my cheeks ran with cold tears, I noticed that they were not all my own. Rain fell from the dark clouds overhead, hitting my face.
At that moment, I realized something:
"Even the heavens weep for the dead."
