Random Babbling About My Life

Hey Everyone, sorry for the delay. I've been very busy. Here's the next part of the nameless werewolf story. Enjoy

It was a week later and the peace was still holding. Eric and Darien played basketball every day, and Candace was happy to watch them getting along. It was nice to see her boyfriend getting along nicely with one of her best friends. She had even pushed the nightmares to the back of his mind, barely ever thinking about them for more than a split second.

Eric and Candace's relationship was better than ever. Now that Eric could honestly say his jealousy of Darien had disappeared, he was able to concentrate more on making Candace happy. They went on nice dates on weekends and spent nights just cuddling together on the couch. Candace found comfort in his warm body pressed against hers and Eric felt like nothing could make him happier than holding her in his arms.

"I haven't seen your brother around," Eric said, one day, as they were standing out in the school parking lot.
"Yeah, me neither," Candace added, looking over at the two vampires.
"He's been gone a while," Alexa confirmed, turning her glance to Darien.
"As far as I know, he went north.' Darien replied, closing his eyes. "I followed his scent a few miles, but he must have covered his tracks from there."
"Well, I'll have the pack keep a look out."
"Thanks."
"No problem."

From there, the two groups wet their seperate ways. Eric had driven to school that day, so it was only fitting he drive Candace home since she'd always wanted a ride in his Ferrari. They were on the road in no time.

"Hey Eric?" Candace said, looking over from the passenger seat.
"Yeah"
"Do you think I would like being a werewolf?" This was the first time something like this had come up. Eric was a little skeptic at the idea, but hadn't completely burried the thought, no matter how impossible it was.
"Well, yes and no," He replied, keeping his eyes on the road.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, there are ups and downs to being a werewolf." He explained, glancing over at her. "First off, as long as you keep transforming from time to time, you'll never age. Your body grows to its maximum size in a matter of months, but you won't look any older. Along with that, your body doesn't really change. For you, that means no menstrual cycle."
"Oh, my god! That would be great! No more cramps, bloating or bleeding!" She exclaimed, looking excited.
"But that's the thing..." Eric replied, taking on a more sullen tone. "That also means, as long as you keep changing, you wouldn't be able to have a family."

Candace just watched as he began explaining this aspect. This had to be the downside he was talking about.

"It's also very hard for she-wolves to imprint. Imprinting is a way for fate to pick out those who would pass on the wolf gene better. It's also a way of finding your soulmate. Without the chance of reproduction, it's even more rare than usual to imprint because, at the time, you cannot pass on the gene at all."

Candace was silent for a few minutes. Eventually, she turned her gaze up at Eric, a shy and embarrassed look on her face.
"Have you imprinted?" She asked, playing with the necklace Eric had given her for her birthday.
He froze. Eric didn't know what to do. He was afraid that telling her might overwhelm her. He swallowed his fear and sighed.
"Yes, I have."
Candace blushed a deeper red. "If you don't mind...can I ask 'on who'?"
Eric pulled over to the sidewalk and turned the car off. "I imprinted with you, Candace, the first day I saw you."
"A-and what does it feel like?" She asked, now trying to understand him.
"It feels like nothing else matters. Like gravity doesn't exist anymore and you're the only thing keeping me held down to this planet."
Candace's eyes started to tear up as she gazed at him.
"Candace, I'm sorry, really. I didn't mean to upset-"
Candace leaned in, wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing her lips to his. "Shut up," She mumbled against his lips.
Eric just sighed and kissed her in return.
Candace slowly pulled away, gazing into his eyes. She smiled up at him and sighed. "You know, I just very well may be a werewolf," She said, hugging him gently.
"And why's that?"
"I think I've just imprinted on you." Eric tightened his arms around her and just hugged her as they sat in his car, silently speaking words that would take an eternity for anyone else to ever say.
