Random Babbling About My Life

Here's that next piece of the werewolf RP that I've been working on. hope you like it.

::”So where were you. Missy?”:: Melanie asked as they arrived at lunch. Candace had left Alexa to her classes as she went off to her own. Something was missing, however. Eric was not sitting at their usual table. In fact, he wasn’t around at all as far as anyone could tell::

::”Sorry, I completely forgot…and then Alexa dragged me off to her first period and-“:: Candace started, but Melissa cut her off:: ”Wait, Alexa!? Who the heck is that!? Don’t tell me you’re leaving us for another best friend!”:: She was joking, of course, but made it sound like she was desperately holding on to Candace as if they’d been dating for ten years and were finally breaking up::

::”Chill, hun. Geez, she’s just the new girl, but she is really friendly. I get along nicely with her, almost as if she were one of you guys. Trust me, she’s not going to replace you, okay? Sheesh”:: Candace let out a short little giggle and sat down to eat:: “So where’s Eric?”:: She asked, looking up at her friends who had sat down after letting out a relieved sigh. Of course, their looks of relief turned into looks of confusion and worry directed at each other and then Candace:: “You mean you haven’t seen him, today, either?”:: They asked::

::“Wait, you mean he hasn’t been in?”:: Candace had put her sandwich down and was now staring at them, a look of worry in her eyes::

::“No”:: Melanie began:: “He wasn’t at breakfast this morning either”:: “Or in study hall”:: Melissa added:: ”Mr. Reddin was out today so there was no gym today”::

::”What about Chris?”:: Candace then asked, getting desperate for positive answers. Her hands were shaking on her knees as she hoped that her nightmares hadn’t come true::

::”Yeah, Chris was in, why?”:: Melissa asked, looking curiously at her::

::”He and Eric live near each other. Their families are really close, so I’ll just ask him if everything is okay”:: She replied, trying to keep her cool and pick her words correctly::

::”Okay”:: Melissa shrugged, not really interested in all that. She was just glad that Candace was okay and would straighten things up. Little did she know, Candace was still worried, but she’d never let them see. She was too worried about how they’d react to her freaking out::

::Candace continued through the day, making it to eighth period. She sat at her easel, noticing that Eric was not sitting next to her. She let out a soft, sad sigh:: “Just 45 minutes left”:: Candace reassured herself as she began painting, unaware that her new friend had been standing behind her the whole time::

::”You really love him, huh?”:: Alexa’s voice flowed into her ear. Candace let out a short yelp of surprise before looking over her shoulder to Alexa:: “Oh, hi”:: she stammered, having not caught the question:: “Well?”:: Alexa persisted:: “Huh?”:: Candace was completely clueless:: “You’re in love with him, right, that Eric guy? I see how the two of you look at each other. You both look so happy and perfect when the other is around, so, am I right? ”:: Alexa sat down where Eric would normally sit, hands resting between her legs, grabbing the stool seat below as if she was perched like some sort of little pixie::

::Candace blushed at the question:: ”Well, yes, I do…a lot”:: She stammered out, her face bright with chagrin. She didn’t normally talk about her relationship, even with her closest friends, let alone a girl she had just met::

::Alexa smiled at her, satisfied with the information:: “I knew it. Just from the way you blushed and froze up, I could tell. You love him!”:: She was extremely proud of herself at this point. The conversation sort of dropped there, since Alexa didn’t want to pry too much into her personal life::

::The bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. Candace exchanged goodbyes with Alexa and immediately began looking for Chris. She soon found him, coming down the stairs to the lower floor and heading out into the school’s parking lot:: “Hey!”:: she called, finally catching up to him::

::”Hey?”:: Chris replied, a bit confused as to why she might want to see him:: “And you would want to talk to me because…?”:: He asked, unlocking his car doors and leaning against the hood to speak to her::

::”Well, I was wondering”:: Candace started, but Chris knew where she was going. He sighed and looked away from her:: “If you’re wondering where Eric is, he’s home. I suppose he told you about the ascension?”:: He asked, returning to look at her:: “Yeah”:: Candace replied. She was confused ad to why he was asking:: “Well”:: He started:: “Didn’t you know? Tonight’s the first Wolf’s moon”:: At that moment, the reality of everything hit her. All the things that had made her uneasy were finally coming full circle::

:: “Whe- Wha- How- Is he okay!?”:: She started asking, frantically. She was worried about him, more than ever before:: “Chill out”:: Chris said, looking over at her:: “He went into convulsions last night. He woke up with a 118-degree fever. Normally, that’d kill one of you humans, but it’s almost like the temperature of a cold for us. Sonia and Reya took off from school to take care of him, so don’t worry about it”:: He opened the car door and got in::

::As he went to close the door, Candace reached up and grabbed it:: “I want to come see him”:: She said, looking down at Chris:: “It’s fi-“:: He started, but Candace cut him off:: “Please?”:: Chris sighed and gave in:: “Fine, get in”:: Candace got in the car and they drove out into the smaller suburbs of the city. Out in the middle of nowhere stood a tall manor. It was plain white, with maroon edging. They pulled up to the large marble steps and got out of the car, Chris leading her up to the door. As the great oak doors swung open, it was easy to see that there were 2 figures standing around the couch, in front of the fireplace, looking their way::

::As they moved into the light, it was easy for Candace to see the two twin she-wolves:: “Um, what’s she doing here?”:: Reya asked, a bit annoyed:: “Hello, Candace”:: Sonia smiled at her and waved::

::Candace hesitantly raised a hand to wave back. She noticed Reya moving back towards the couch without even waiting for Chris to answer. As she got closer, Candace saw Reya pick up a cold towel from near her feet and place it down near the arm of the couch; this caused Candace's heart to race and her steps to pick up speed. Moving around the couch, she found herself staring at a young boy who barely looked as if he could talk. Eric was shaking mildly as he lay there. Candace gripped the silver pendant around her neck and stepped closer. As she did, the shaking slowly came to a halt and Eric was able to open his eyes:: "He's awake":: Reya was astounded and had no idea how he could have recovered like that. Eric sat up taking the towel from his head and crossing his legs, looking around the room, almost confused as to where he was:: "What happened?":: He asked, finally coming to rest his eyes on Candace:: "Oh hey. What're you doing here?":: Before Candace could speak, Reya jumped in:: "Um, if you don't mind me asking, what happened? How is it that you've come out of your ascension early? You haven't even transformed.":: Eric looked over at Reya and then back to Candace, settling on the hand still clenching the moon-shaped trinket:: “Must have been the silver”:: He said, staring up at the ceiling:: “I got it to protect Candace, but it must also be pausing the effects of the transformation while I’m in range”::

::Chris cleared his throat, gaining Sonia and Reya’s attention. He motioned his head towards the upstairs room and walked off to it. Sonia fell into step behind him and Reya, after moments of rebellion, finally decided to follow as well. They left Candace and Eric to themselves, an awkward silence falling over the room. That silence was so thick, you could cut it with a knife, which is exactly what Eric did when he looked over at her::

::“So did you come here to stare or say hello?”:: He joked as he got up, Candace finding that same smirk and chuckle she always loved. She grinned weakly and moved closer. Hesitantly, she took another step and threw her arms around his torso. Eric was caught off guard. He collected himself, however, and wrapped his arms around her shoulders:: “Hey, it’s alright, I’m fine, no need to worry”:: He tried to reassure her. Candace looked up at him, her eyes slightly dampened with tears. She was speechless, having seen him in so much pain only minutes ago. She buried her face in his chest and continued to hold him::

::“Is there anything I can do?”:: she finally asked, turning her head so her cheek rested near his heart. He looked down at her, kissing the top of her head:: “No, everything will be alright”:: He replied. After a long conversation, Candace finally felt okay with going home. Chris drove her out while the girls continued to take care of Eric:: “He’ll be in school tomorrow”:: Chris said, reassuring her as they pulled up to the walkway of Candace’s house:: “I know”:: She replied:: “Thanks for the ride”:: She got out of the car, walked up the walkway and went to her room, drawing for a while, ending up with a mediocre sketch of Eric’s profile that was stained with a couple tears. Candace regained her composure after a nice shower and went to bed, trying to get some sleep, even with all the day's excitement::

::”Did you guys hear what happened?!”:: Melissa was frantic as she walked over to the usual group of Melanie and Candace:: “No, what, Mis?”:: Melanie was curious as to what Melissa was so freaked out about:: “It was on the news this morning. The park was trashed. There was trash thrown all over, and the cans were dented and thrown off to the side, not to mention the claw marks and stray branches from the nearby from the nearby trees. There was also a slain deer found a few yards from the fence”:: She explained:: “Sounds to me like we have a couple of cultists in the neighborhood”:: Kate joined in as she came up to them. Only Candace knew the actual cause. She drank her coffee, watching the door to see if Eric would appear::

::Sure enough, as if called by her thoughts, our young werewolf friend walked through the front doors, a new clarity in his eyes and a sparkling smile on his face. Candace got up as he approached and hugged him:: “Hey there”:: he said, sweeping her up in a gentle kiss:: “H-Hi”:: Candace eventually stammered out, finally put to peace. The school day went on; Candace hung out with them and Alexa, respectively and she walked home with Eric as usual::

:: “I’m glad you’re okay”:: She said, holding his hand, their fingers laced, as they walked the city streets:: “With someone like you, I can’t not be okay”:: He commented, smiling over at her. Candace blushed as usual and Eric stopped her on the sidewalk, pulling her arm up to his shoulder and placing his around her waist, bringing her lips to his in another passionate kiss:: “Hmm”:: Candace started, licking her lips:: “I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but I think I want more”:: She said, smiling at him. They both shared a short moment of laughter and continued on their way:: “Well, I’ll see you tomorrow”:: Eric said before kissing her goodbye at her front door:: “Yup”:: Candace replied and she went inside. Candace walked to her room and laid on her bed, looking over at the calendar. She let out an airy sigh as she eyed the date. Tomorrow was Valentine’s Day::
