::The tears began to die down after a few moments. Eric had eased himself and Candace to sitting on the couch. He held her close, trying to console her. When the tears finally stopped, Candace looked up at him with grateful, loving eyes. She glanced down at his chest and let out a soft giggle::
::”What”::Eric asked, a confused smile forming on his face::
::”Your shirt’s all wet”::she replied::
::Eric looked down at the marks where tears had fallen from Candace’s cheeks and hit his shirt. He let out a soft chuckle and pulled Candace in for another gentle hug. After a few moments of comfort, Candace began to tell Eric about her nightmare. When she had finished, Eric continued to hug her closely::
::”I’m sorry”::he said as he cuddled his cheek to her forehead::
::Candace’s head shot up from against his shoulder, her hands pressed against his chest::”For what?”::she asked, utterly confused::
::”For making you worry…”::he was vague, not wanting to bring back the memories::”For scaring you with the whole ceremony thing”::
::”It’s okay”::she replied, snaking her arms up his shoulders and around his neck. She hugged him again, pulling herself up and bringing her chin to his cheek::”It’s nothing to be sorry about”::She whispered, softly, in his ear before kissing his cheek::
::”Okay”::Eric said, relaxing a bit as he hugged her to his body, turned his cheek and gently kissed her lips, but with a strong passion. Suddenly, the bedroom door opened down the hall and the two teens separated, shifting quickly so that they were just sitting there next to each other on the couch. Candace’s mother walked out, rubbing her eyes, sleepily::
::”Good morning”::she said, going into the bathroom and closing the door behind her::
::The two of them just looked at one another and let out a short burst of laughter before sharing another soft, passionate kiss::
