::Eric walked around the corner of the second floor hallway to meet Candace so they could walk home together. He came up behind her, putting his hands over her eyes::”So, guess who”::he said, his voice light and happy. He moved his hands down to her waist, pulling her closer from behind::
::”Well, I would hope it’s Eric, or else you’re going to get punched”::Candace replied, turning in his hands::”Hello”::he said as she pecked him on the lips::
::”So…close your eyes”::he haid, sticking his hands in his pockets::
::”Do I have to?”::Candace whined as she closed them::
::Eric chuckled as he walked back behind her and took out a silver pendant in the shape of a crescent moon and hooked it around her neck::”Okay, open them”::He said as he stepped away::
Candace opened her eyes and looked down, taking a hand and gently grasping the pendant so she could look at it::”Oh my gosh…Eric…it’s beautiful. Thank you”::she said, turning and throwing her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly::
::Eric chuckled::”I’m glad you like it”::he said as he hugged her in return::
::”I hope you didn’t spend too much on this”::Candace said as they walked home. She was still mesmerized by the pendant and the way it flared in the sunlight. The amber colored gem in the center sparkled as she turned it in her hand::
::”That’s for me to know, and for you to ‘maybe’ find out”::he said, chuckling, as he walked beside her. He had spent about forty dollars on the necklace and didn’t want her to freak out::
::”I’ll find out eventually”::she threatened, giving him a menacing, yet loving grin. Candace was absolutely in love with the necklace. She could’t take her eyes off it. She even almost walked into the middle of a busy street. Luckily, Eric caught her at the last minute and pulled her back, hugging her to his chest to make sure she was okay. Candace blushed as she reassured him that she was fine and made sure she paid attention to the things around her the rest of the way home::
