Basics of Literate Role Play: Everything Else Will Follow
I find after over a year of watching my other friends role play on Gaia people split themselves up into non-literate, semi-literate, and literate role plays, only the last two varies from person to person. General rule of thumb has been if you put literate role play (or at least literate rules) you'll get at least a semi-literate role play. However I digress people who wish to know how to do a literate role play, or wish to have some basics of what a literate role play is, well here is the rundown. The following entries explain in detail the basics of what makes a literate role play. Now most people out there who do, do literate role plays thinks it should be obvious (and they are quite right!), however there is a different between literate role play and novel role play. The latter a dub for the insanely long posts beyond the intital introduction for no other reason than the fact they want it to be literate.

I am obsessed but not that obsessed.

I also find that the term literate scares people because they believe they cannot do so, therefore I shall clarify and suggest. There are people out there who would argue with me that literate role plays are quite a**l, in truth is, if the creator of the thread is good, it should not be that a**l... At any rate here we go, the bare basics of Literate Role Play, if you follow these, everything else that makes a good role play should follow.

First here are the basics that pretty much all literate threads request more or less.

1. Grammar and Spelling to the best of one's ability.
2. Keeping one liners to a minimum (though some say none at all).
3. No God modding/Power play always an issue among role players.

Quite short no? Literate role play in general never asks for a whole lot, however here are my additions to a Literate role play.

4. Respect other people's characters.
5. Pay attention to the setting.
6. Leave all gaming, anime, show, comic/manga references at the door unless stated otherwise.
Six rules in total.. not bad, let's move on shall we?
