Lore Layer 1: The Test Drive
Starting around four in the afternoon and ending at three thirty in the morning after nine pages of role play Lore has completed his first interaction with another person. Even though really I did it to get the chance to play Lore in all his elvish glory, it's still a test drive, because before this point I had no clue really what his full personality was.

Role plays are fun like that.

Going in knowing that he was going to be soft spoken and polite, and with a whole truck load of background to guide him. Well my first questions I asked myself about him were answered... that yes he was tramuized as a child when he was outcasted, he hadn't met an elf in a long time until he met Elnara and later by chance Kakko and Himioko. Overall he's a bit edgy around any elves the first time he meets them, he doesn't like the idea of running into his own people, not elves in general, just the type of elves he comes from. There is a sense that if he were, he would be treated with disgust (or like a disease), but once he is sure that this is no elf from home then he opens up quite well. He has probably visited his home within perhaps the past century or so and it's left a bitterness to him. Later I'll put more background information on the situtation for him in question.

He likes white wine... I don't know why... he just struck me as the type to drink white instead of red, but that's just me. Yes the scholar drinks, assuming since he was based off of more the type of culture and society that Elnara has, that they do not have the kind of drinks we do. It is often, water, cider or wine... well there is beer, but for someone like Lore I can't imagine him liking it all that much.. not to mention in some socieites actually beer had not been made yet... or it has... but it's really really bad beer. Tea is probably an unknown factor outside of something herbal, but since Lore has been introduced to many things since he left his home over the past century or so, he probably has had tea. I don't know his opinion on it... but since he doesn't like bitter drinks he probably likes it better than coffee.

He also like ginger snaps... I find it funny to be put on the spot about something a character might like and it took a while to figure out what was it he would have. I think ginger snaps because it strikes me as a comfort cookie, one of those things a grandmother would make... it's simple, but not too sweet, which is Lore.

Other random things I have found out about Lore is that he has assistants, when I think about it, makes sense seeing as he works in a library and is more or less computer illteriate, he hates computers and pretty much majority forms of technology. He would give a grumbling kudos to hot showers and stoves until they broke down. He probably desistes mircowaves and dishwashers I gather for some odd reason. I imagine them to be young things, like high school students who need a job, probably females who think their boss is cute but really needs to get a life. In their own twisted way they're probably his family, he just doesn't realize it yet.

He actually has read Egar Allen Poe's works, or was attempting to at the time, I'm sure he had already read a bit of it when he entered the cafe. I don't know why I choose that one, except he's probably read everything and I hadn't bothered to come up with some 'modern Gaian' writings. I should make something up later.

And finally his interaction, well he got along spendidly with Elnara, then again there is that hint they share a similar problem of sorts. Only Elnara's is more recent with her being two decades old, while Lore's case he's had a very long time to let it pass, he had no one to really vent to about his issues. Under the politeness he is capable of being a bit bitter, he's observant and is willing to teach people if it means the spread of knowledge. :B That's Lore for you.

It was good, the feedback I got was that he was charming... so it's a start. I do need to figure out where he emotionally lies with his past though, though that will be probably not something he'll do until he establishes himself more into this particular place.
