Another Lore update from your friendly puppet master mrgreen *coughs*. I still haven't gotten around to making Lore's assistants, however that didn't stop me from messing with his love life. Now before I go on, let's go into the usual background history.
Lore's Past Loves: None
You'd think after oh.... a 150 years he would have fallen in love at least once, but that isn't the case. Besides the fact, I'd rather not come up with past loves, Lore is a bit dense in that area. Most people would find it hard to believe that anyone could live alone for that period of time, but I wish to disagree.
My train of thought is leaning towards the fact that assuming Lore left his home in his twenties, or there about. Now understand that Lore and people like him are considered at best second class citizens, though technically second class citizens are treated better than people like him. The 'Tainted' have been moved to a separate community, looked after till they are legally old enough to fend for themselves. There are guards around the area to make sure that none of them try to leave the community (to go back the main cities).
As for how Lore left then, he either convinced them he wouldn't come back or he snuck out. That part of his past I'm still constructing slowly.
Because of that sort of past, one would assume the kind of luxeries we take for granted was not given to him. The coversation he had with Elnara suggests that precious metals were not allowed to them, and perhaps a lot of the fineries in life that need to be imported were not given to them. So after Lore left in his twenties, and settled into the city where he would become a librarian, he would spend the first, probably decade or so understanding this new place he now lives in.
I have no doubts at this point that Lore and the others weren't given a full education, and if his people are as xenophobic as I'm deplicting them, then he would have to spend at least a decade learning his way around. It would without a doubt, between settling in, earning gold, and learning, he would spend the first twenty years afterwards establishing himself.
He probably became a librarian as a result of the fact he was always learning, probably without a doubt earned his education by being very bright, so a charity student no less. Since this library is well funded by the local schools, all the research material is there, and with that Lore then, believe he can cure the 'disease' spends roughly the next fifty years of his life doing so. So nearly a century has passed until he finds the answer he doesn't like, which is, it's not a disease, it is what's keeping him alive from a real disease problem spreading throughout his society.
Lore for sure I know goes back, to try and explain this to his people, his findings, which of course probably gets a very violent I think response, to explain his very wariness of his own kind. He becomes quite disllusioned to the whole experience, which would take another generation for him to get over, which brings Lore up to date with the fact after 150 years or so, he hasn't bothered to look for love.
He has buried himself into learning languages, learning nearly everything, and being the librarian to go to, to get over his experience back home, and to bury the knowledge within him that the society that he knows now with his people, will probably not exist within another three or four generations.
Which brings him to the present in meeting Elnara Aldrich, a fellow elf, but of a different variety. Different between in that, Elnara's ears or shorter more in the Tolkien tradition (contrast with Lore taken from a more anime view, his ears are actually longer).
Relationship role plays, in reality are hard, compared to what people think, an interesting one that makes sense is difficult to come by. As for me, I couldn't resist :B quite frankly. Since Lore was created, with Elnara in mind at the time (because I heard a lot about her), they are very compable on many levels, though the roles I think associated with the genders are going to differ quite a bit.
Lore is not at all a fighter, he's quite quiet in a way, and compared to Elnara's knowledge and temper, it's going to be more Elnara taking the role of protector I think. Granted I have yet Elnara to be in the position where she's the one having problems, so I don't know how someone like Lore who doesn't like conflict is going to interact.
Possibily falling for Elnara might change him, who knwos maybe he'll at least get into a few conflicts. One would hope, otherwise it's not going to be that interesting. Lore also has to deal with the children, now he's been doing well with Celebor, Serenity and Skye, but it depends on how he views his role and how they view him in the future.
Love life makes things interesting.
