Name: Tristan Wong
Age: 16
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Magic: Minor body levitation (Mainly used for performances)
Origin: Family originally comes from the East (Half Chinese, half European)
Height: 5”1
Eye Colour: Blue
Hair: Shoulder length black hair with light brown highlights, it is thin in a feathery sort of way, often kept in a neat ponytail.
Skin: Light skinned (she never tans, but she does burn quite easily)
Body Built: At first glance Tristan looks like a young boy, while having feminine features, they are thought to be results of her youth rather than the possibility she might be female, since she doesn’t look delicate due to clothes choice. She is small in the chest area, but it’s hard to tell seeing as she binds her chest to keep up appearances.
Other nickpicky body details: For those that look at her carefully, she has toned legs and arms as the result of dancing, so there is more muscle on them than most normal girls would have.
Occupation: Library Assistant/Leader of the Lunar Team
Likes: Yuki, her family, the stage, dancing, fairytales, and cake.
Dislikes: Thunderstorms, Lady Cho, being looked down upon, and spiders.
Hobbies: Dancing, Acrobats, and reading fairytales
Clothing Preference: Tristan is actually under normal circumstances a very girly person, she likes to wear dresses, or pants that have been embroidered, but due to circumstances Tristan keeps the appearance of a boy. She tends to wear good black pants, with a white dress shirt and a buttoned up jewel toned colour (blue, purple or red) vest trimmed in gold over top. The look makes her look like someone from one of those old noble families, earning her the nickname Le Petite Prince.
About:
By birth Tristan is the daughter of Lei and Hope Wong, her mother being European in origin and her father being Chinese. On her father’s side is a long line of fighters of the staff weapon, while on her mother’s side is a long line of acrobats and dancers is the heritage she derives from. At first Tristan knew only the basics of staff fighting, Lei had not expected his daughter to follow his path because she had shown a high interest in the art of dancing.
In fact, that is what she, her mother and siblings had done was taken part of a stage that was located in another trading hub far away from her current location. Her mother already a star, Tristan’s one main wish was to share in a dance so charged with emotion the audience could feel it, like the one rumoured to be shared between her mother and father. The only recorded time Lei Wong had taken the stage in his career. Deep inside, her greatest wish was to share that dance with Yuki, a long time performing partner.
Those wishes changed when word reached her home that certain clans back in her father’s home were gathering together youths to create teams in order to prevent breaks in the peace. Specifically coming from one Lady Chao whose misdemeanours included the attack upon a travelling troupe, where most were killed or tortured, one of those was her mother at a very young age. For one of the reasons for her family’s current living location was that Hope was terrified of going back to Lei’s home country and still suffered nightmares. So Tristan gained a new goal, which was her promise she would “strip all the finery and power that made Lady Cho the monster in the dark”.
Unfortunately in the beginning of the creations of the Celestial Teams, no woman was allowed to take part. So, after begging her father to continue her training she dressed up as a well off boy, claiming to the son of Lei’s. Since Lei had not returned home because of his wife’s fear, no one was aware that Lei had no son, only a daughter. Since then the council had decreed that women were also to be allowed into the Celestial Teams, however her team mates due to a choice of their own as continued to refer to her as male, out of a minor joke and respect.
Currently she is stationed at the trading hub where Lore’s library is, and acts as his assistant in the front desk, helping check out books and sorting them back on the shelf. There are rumours there are illegal trades done by Lady Cho’s family within that city that threatens to under mind the powers back in Lei’s home country. The head librarian has given them leave to use the resources there, and has provided three of them with covers as his assistants.
Comments:
This… is what happens when Kara convinces you that watching Kaliedo Stage, Princess Tutu (don’t ask) and reading W Juliet was a good idea. This is also what happens when you storm with Kara on characters, as I promised one of Lore’s assistants who have their own story, and turn out to an extent very different from what I had first thought. Still it works.
There are more random bits about Tristan’s background which I’ll put later, something we both came up on the spur of the moment, because she had half the reason why this character exists, I’m going to give Tristan to her to play, and to make my life easier, since Tristan one of the two counterparts that will be featured in the library. :B
Tristan is actually a genderless name, for those who are familiar with Kara’s pet, it was derived from Trisha. Tristan’s nickname is Tris for short, which works for whatever gender she is being considered. She’s also a quite conflicting character, in that she has spent her life being a dancer, and while she is very talented that field, she’s also a very good strategist and leader by nature, while her fighting skills will never be on par with everyone else, her duty to her team and ability to earn respect as marked within this organization. Ironically enough she never wanted to be team leader but her mates wouldn’t hear of it. I don’t know if I would come up with the others, I might or might not in the future.
