Chapter 2: Of Fight and Flight
Rayne decided that facing the villagers would just put her and them in more danger than she would have liked, the crowd that had begun to gather would not have taken it lightly if Rayne had decided to fight. She took a deep breath and then bolted for her camp grabbing up her pack and light saddle as the cries of the humans reached her ears. She knew they would follow her into the night, for humans were stupid that way. if they were angered they would blindly pursue something to the ends of the earth no matter the cost. Diving back into the saftey of the bushes, Rayne shouldered her pack and slipped her swords back into their sheaths before continuing on.
Slowly but surely the angry cries faded into the dark and Rayne was at last left in peace. She slowed her pace until she came to a walk and found herself beside the moonlit waters of a small stream, taking her clay jug from her pack Rayne filled it with much needed water for the long journey ahead of her. She knew that the cloaked figure wouldn't let her escape rest and that he too soon would come after her. And that was what she wanted. To have an enemy following you was one of the greatest advantages a target could have. The stalker wouldn't attack so long as he found no oppurtunity to do so, and Rayen was not going to give him that oppurtunity until she was well within the Eastern Plains Borders. The WolfGar there would make sure to close in after her preventing the figure's escape leaving him to Rayne and Rayne alone.
