Chapter 3: The Best Laid Plans
Three days later and Rayne found herself at the borders of her beloved homeland, the wind whistled a merry tune as if to welcome her home again. She breathed deeply and stretched the length of her body to rid herself of the ache that throbbed in her back from many nights of restless sleep. She'd been too worried about the figure to even attempt to sleep deeply enough to regenerate her strength, his aura was unlike Rayne had ever felt, a Dark pool that sucked in all light...it made her uneasy to even think about it and in the warm sunshine, she shudderd.
Taking off at a fairly brisk pace, rayne felt as though she could make it to the Dew Claw Clan's camp by nightfall, sadly that was not to be. At dusk Rayne began to feel her body begin to freeze from her legs up. She found she couldn't move a limb and her throat had gone numb. A mist formed around her ankels and she writhed in her icy prison.
"Ah ah, my little one." Crooned a dark and slimy voice from behind her, Rayne turned to face her captor when a large hand, with fingernails that could have been mistaken for claws wrapped their icy fingers around her chin forcing her to look straight.
"So you are Naiya's Tear eh?" Rayne sucked in a breath, that was known only between her and her goddess, as well as the members of the Dew Claw Clan, but her destiny was not known outside of that so how could this feind know of her exsitence?!
"I see now why the fool chose you, An Elf and yet not an Elf, one who has forgone her bloody history to serve the greater kind. But fear not my percious one, for your Demon Arms will surely demand that you give in to what lies beneath..." The fingers retracted and slowly the ice melted, Rayne stood there for what seemed like ages before she heard Ito, the WolfGar princess, calling to her, from a great distance...or maybe that was just how Rayne perceived it before collapsing into Darkness.
