Chapter 8: The Reunion
"Drop." Rayne breathed as she set her saddle bags on the ground before her. Drop smiled and then breifly embraced the much smaller body.
"It's good to see you again Rayne." She paused.
"yes...however I fear that the sentiment will not last." Drop narrowed his eyes and then turned inside.
"follow me" Said whistling for the gate to be raised.
"For there is much to talk about."
The hall was immense in size and Rayne gaped at the long pillars that held the roof in place.
"so this is CandleKeep?" A few wolfhounds in the corner rolled their eyes at her and quickly fell into eyeing the next watch hoping for some scrap of meat that they might drop.
"Yes, for what it's worth...Rayne something's wrong I can feel it, today during practice, i noticed that training has become a chore, it's not fun like it used to be."
"So you are one of the four."
Drop whirled on her in the hallway that they had come to.
"what do you mean Rayne?" She nodded solemnly and then asked if there was somewhere private that they could talk. Drop lead her to the observatory and there she realated the story that Naiya had told her.
"So that's what's been putting my nerves on edge." He whispered looking out across the plains up to the moutains.
"Seehti won't like you dragging her all over creation for this Rayne..." The Paladin chuckled.
"But then it'll be worth it to see Set in the same spot when we tell him." Smiling Drop patted Rayne on the back and sent her down to the kitchen to find something to eat for she was begining to complain of pains in her stomach.
"And it is high time that we did something to end this madness." He told the dark as soon as she was gone. Tomorrow they would set out to find the Chetraan Seehti.
