Chapter 5: ...You Must Heed It
"Naiya!" Rayne started, she shot upright only to have her gasp turn again to coughs.
"Yes, Desciple," The goddess chided, reminding Rayne of Ito.
"I have come here to ask once more of you to remember what happened before the WolfGar found you." Rayne looked at her goddess with pleading eyes.
"My lady, if I could assist you or my sister in anyway, I would, but it seems as though whatever happened was meant to stay a mystery for the time being...I-I have lost all memory of it." Naiya sighed.
"Yes I suppose you have...Rayne I fear Evil Days are upon the Plane of Earth...and I fear not even the gods can stop it." Rayne forced herself up onto her elbows and gazed at Naiya, wide-eyed and fearful.
"Something HAS been disturbing the Winds...Naiya is that what causes my nightmares?" The green haired goddess nodded solemly.
"Yes I'm afraid it is. And I fear it is an Evil that we locked away long ago."
"What? Naiya, my goddess, you must tell me what this evil is! If we are to face something greater than the Demo---"
"I fear this is far greater than anything that you have faced before Gold One. And you cannot do it alone...nor will Drop and Seehti be able to help you."
"Then how do we defeat it?" Naiya hung her head.
"To tell you this I must first tell you of the bloody past the Plane of Earth contains and the sacrifice of four brave souls that undertook what you, yourself wish to." Rayne curled her legs beneath her and sat upright on the mat she used for a bed eager to hear of what lie ahead of her and her friends.
