Memoirs of an Addict
Odd Hours Review and Thoughts on Blood Noir
SPOILER ALERT!

Don’t read any further if you intend to read Odd Hours! I may say something to spoil it for you.

I should have posted this a week ago when I finished Odd Hours but anyways...

Odd Hours wasn’t as good as I thought it may be. It seems Koontz goes through a phase with each Odd Thomas book. Odd Thomas = Great; Forever Odd = Okay; Brother Odd = Great; Odd Hours = Okay. That means the next will be great. And I expected we’d get to hear more of Sinatra than what he allotted. I suppose we’re not looking for the next Elvis in the stories but I did expect Sinatra to stick around for a book and a half at least. But I do love the ghost dog, Boo. He makes me happy. And at the end of Brother Odd I cried; I had to wrack my brain to see if Boo had ever been seen by anyone else, if anyone made contact with him, or if the dog ever made a sound. I cannot for the life of me recall whether Boo was a ghost throughout the entire book or just the end! But as I vaguely remember Odd had a dream where Boo entered his room although the door was locked and had a chair underneath the doorknob. I already posted up some thought son the book though; this is just my other half of the review over how the book was. The first was more of how I thought the book was written so far. It was good in the sense I felt like I was reading something Odd Thomas wrote; not Dean Koontz. But not a whole lot happened in the book to make me interested.

I have finally gotten Blood Noir! It took Wal Mart a week after the release date to get it, but I got it! This story will be interesting like all the others. But I believe it may be another Micah book; similar but with Jason instead. I do hope more happens in this one than what did in Micah. And I’m proud Hamilton has finally made a dynamic environment outside of St. Louis. Authors tend to stick to their territory, where they live and the areas they know best but we’ve traveled off somewhere far away. I mean in other of the Anita books it’s been done but not to the extent of this one.
