Dreams (exchange 26)
A vicious cycle of slave-breeding. He had heard of it more commonly in the bigger cities. He never thought that men actually raised their own children as slaves. His opinion of the baron was too influenced to be saved now. The fiend! May he burn in hell for his vanity! Jaelin suddenly felt embarressed that he had inquired about her personal life.
"I am... sorry. I... didn't know. But why don't you-- Oh, I apologize. Our agreement, yes."
She shrugged. "No one really knows. The Baron doesn't talk about it... and I'm not supposed to."
For a moment, she considered what she wanted to ask him. She asked the first thing her mind settled upon. "Why do you keep coming to see me and talk to me if you know I'm a slave? It could get you in serious trouble... perhaps even lose the Baron as a customer if he finds out."
