Take time to fish out the guppies.
Dreams (exchange 25)

"Indeed. Right this way." Jaelin led her away from the crowded market. They slipped through the street congestion and into the city's outer gardens. Empty as always with only the fading morning dew to care for them. "This is a safe place. No one ever comes to appreciate nature's beauty anymore. Except for me, that is. I love nature. It helps me get away from the world and clear my mind."

They found a small empty spot in the center of a white rose cluster. Their fragrance permeated the air and created a mood of lightness all around. "I understand that you are a slave, Amara. But I don't know why you are. Perhaps your answer will clarify my outlook on the matter."

The look on her face as they walked said all too clearly without words that she was in love with the nature he said no one stopped to appreciate. She'd never been to these gardens before but seemed to fit right in there. The white roses were exotic, not originally from this part of the world. Her odd, mysterious look, seemed to match theirs as she sat down, pulling her knees up to her chest. The position didn't look paranoid or hurt, but rather natural: like she sat that way because it was comfortable.

"I'm a slave because my mother was a slave." For a moment she considered just leaving it at that, but she felt suddenly like telling him more... he was the first person she'd ever met who was willing to listen. "She came from one of the Southern Islands. The Baron bought her while she was young and loved her. He loved her more than he loved the Baroness." She reached out and brushed a finger against one of the rose petals. "I'm the Baron's daughter." She didn't look at him. "My mother died shortly after I was born from infection. That's when the Baroness left the Baron." It was a popular gossip story around town, although there were so many speculations as to why the Baroness left that the truth wasn't even the most commonly told story. "He was bitter and to try and win back the Baroness' favor he had me raised as a slave."
