Take time to fish out the guppies.
Dreams (exchange 22)

What brief hope he could summon from hearing her voice was again silenced by the blade.

But Jaelin jolted awake that night with his hope intact. She does share my dream! With this new development in his quest for answers, he could not return to sleep. His mind raced with spontaneous ideas and gestures. For instance, how could he get the baron to leave the city for a week or two to give Amara more time to be free from her servitude. His racing heart and mind carried him away from home and out onto the streets.

All night and early morning he was out and about looking at all the places in the city he never really stopped to look at. The beautiful stone fountain at the town square, the peaceful rose gardens by the castle. He even found a couple secret exits from the city via crevices in the walls. All places he was going to take Amara the moment he could find her the time.

Work went much faster due to his lightened mood. The hours passed until the delivery to the baron was to be sent. Jaelin relieved the man in charge of it and took it upon himself to carry it. Not to the baron of course, but to his own house. He had always wondered what royal food tasted like. Afterward, he faked a bout of the flu so well that Taarven gave him the next three days off of work to recover. With all his new time, Jaelin took it to get to the marketplace and await Amara's arrival.

Amara didn't feel the same hope as Jaelin did. If anything, she was more troulbed than before. He's recognized her at last, and even more floods of doubts and worries came to mind. So many of them brought her in a circle... all of them revolving upon him somehow deciding she really wasn't worth the time or disgrace she'd cast him into and simply stopping speaking to her... maybe even stopping to dream about her... if he had that power, that is.

The next morning she faked sick as well, explaining to the cooks before she went out that she was feeling ill. Any abscence longer than her usual one would be connected to the illness. She was able to steal a few minutes of freedom at least.

She slowed down when she entered the market, trying to make it easy for him to find her in the crowd.
