Okay, well, I know I am not the only one to think this, so I sure as hell am voicing it.
CHAIN MAIL IS STUPID!
People, please, do you honestly believe that good things will happen to you if you send a chain letter to 25-40-50 so called friends. How many people here actually have that many “friends” in your friends list. I am sick of chain letters that end with things like “If you send this to 5 people you are a bad friend” “If you send this to 20 people you are a good friend” “If you send this to 50 people you are a great friend!!!” Guess what, I only have 20 friends in my list, and unfortunately I do not give all of them the attention that others get.
“Friends”
Of my friends list there is only like 6 people I constantly interact with, mostly cause they are on when I am on. Now. A good friend is someone who does pm the others and bugs the hell out of them randomly. A good friend helps out their friends with questions and cuts them deals or even gives them for free super pricey items. A good friend does not pm another friend when some stupid letter tells them they have to or something bad will happen to them.
Oooooo, spooky…NOT!
And as for these bad things that happen, you have probably seen the one about the girl who was pushed and died and a boy read about it did not send it and then disappeared. Well supposedly he heard laughing and then went to bed and was never seen again… if no one ever saw him again how do you know what happened? How does anyone know he even read that before he disappeared? How do you know he heard laughing? How stupid can you be to believe this!? Seriously!
There’s gold in them thar…poo?
Also I don’t care if doing what the chain letter says gets me gold. I don’t care. I don’t do what they say, I delete them. They go bye-bye. I earn my gold. Posting (not so much) commenting, voting, and selling donation items I bought. I don’t care if a monkey will pop up and give me gold. I don’t want the monkey’s gold, monkeys throw their poo.
FBI WARNING
I know some of you really like doing these chain letter things. If I recall correctly, chain mail is against GAIA policy. There are reasons for this I am sure. The FBI database comes to mind. While I doubt that these chain letters have ‘bombs’ attached. Consider this. Someone sent their friend a chain email to a secretary friend at her work in an FBI building. When her friend opened the email it sent a virus into her computer and then mailed itself to her friends list. Now, government computers are all linked, so what happened….anyone? The whole database was attacked. Oh yeah, I am sure someone got fired when it was traced. Point is, you don’t really know who or why they started it. If you do, that’s great. I have not seen a chain letter yet that I know all the people involved with it. And like I said, I doubt the GAIA pm’s have bombs in them. But if you do it on GAIA, I bet you do it in your real mail. Think about it.
Consider this
Most of you don’t know if your friends hate chain mail, unless you have sent them enough to piss them off. My suggestion is so that it does not waste people’s time, in the title some how make it obvious that it is a chain letter (something like “This is cute (chainletter)” would suffice I think). I hate having to go through the mail just to see if it is. I would like to know before I open it so I can delete it then and there.
DELETED!!!
As I have made my friends aware now, that if you send me a chain letter, I will delete you. You will have to make some real good excuses as to why I should not, and if you don’t care well then, fine, I will delete you and know who my real friends are. So I think everyone else that finds this annoying should say the same to their “friends” After that you will find out who really pays attention. I don’t think I would accept a “oh I forgot you don’t like them” A real friend does not forget something their friend hates. Don’t like it, deal with it.
Final Note
I don’t mind things like “MERRY CHRISTMAS” That does not bug me. If it is followed by anything else (see: chain mail is stupid) that does. I don’t mind something that is meant to show holiday spirit of any holiday as long as it is meant for that purpose. Just don't expect me to pass it along either.
Examples:
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Yeah, those are good.
