Description Decipher:
Well guess what I am starting with first? The description. First of all, descriptions are not totally necessary, but they are extremely helpful. I hate it when someone doesn't even bother to delete the instructions. I mean even the "It's just my avatar" is better than that because at least you know what they are going for, an everyday avatar.
Next, descriptions that are waaaaaaaaaaay too long. I mean if you have a fairy avatar I don't want to read about her parents her siblings her land and her dog. I want to read about the fairy her/himself. Also descriptions that are all story and barely anything, if at all, to do with the avatar. If you make a fire fairy and you talk about the fairy kingdom, no. If you have a fire fairy talk about the fairy or the fire. Now you can talk about the fairy kingdom if you link it to the fairy. None of this, "There is a fairy kingdom somewhere and there in the kingdom are fairies. They are happy peaceful creatures with simple ways of life. They are in harmony with all the creatures...." no, that just doesn't work. Revised "There is a fairy kingdom somewhere and in the kingdom are many different types of fairies such as this fire fairy here. They are happy peaceful creatures with simple ways of life. They are in harmony with all the creatures...." see? It still sucks but sucks less in a 'at least the description has something to do with this avatar' kind of way.
Descriptions that beg for a 10. "Please rate a 10" "Please give me a 10" "Rate a 10!" No, you get an 'F'. If you aren't confident enough to believe in your own avatar getting you a 10 then don't enter it. I don’t' like beggars. I don't like askers. I certainly don't like commanders. Not necessarily a '0' in my book but it does hurt my scoring.
Commentary Cuckoos:
Okay, yeah this is all opinions but it isn't really so much the opinion I am attacking right now, it is the choice of words. First of all 'popped your comment cherry' I hate that phrase. To 'pop a cherry' well we know what that means and for those of you who don't know, it does not matter. It is a phrase that is used for people with lower language skills who think they are being cute. It just proves you are not making the most of the grey matter in your skull. I think it is stupid, disgusting, and should be beneath people. End of that.
Just saying gibberish. You are stupid and should not even be voting, your opinion means nothing to me and obviously not to you either because you won't even put it down.
Just a face. Just a face? What does that mean?!?!?! A razz could be a good or bad thing. Give me and everyone else something more to go on! Did you or did you not like it? Some people at least put "no." It is one word but says so much more than razz .
People who crack on emos. 'Your avatar looks emo' 'Your an emo' 'Emo's suck!' yeah yeah yeah, but what does that have to do with voting for the avatar. I hate pink and I still vote not according to my tastes but what the person said it is to be and how well they matched that (plus a point or two with opinion on thought into the avatar.) I don't freaking care if they are emo, goth, punk, prep, prissy, gangsta, pimp, hooker, schoolgirl vote indiscriminately. Because it is discrimination to give a '0' just because you don't like emo's. Don't like it? Don't vote! Just don't vote, skip to a random image, just don't bring down their score over something so stupid.
Asking for a '10.' Once again the beggars are out with a new ploy. 'I voted '10' vote me one too!' HELL NO. How do I even know you voted? You could just be commenting and commenting like that to everyone listed just to grab some poor sap who thinks he/she is returning a favor. Even if you did vote me a '10' who says I will give you one? Heck, I will even vote for you if you gave me a '1' as long as you are honest as I sure as heck will be. I don't mind the 'I gave you a '6' vote back?' Sure I will. Maybe not right now but like they will know if I do it instantly, but in most cases I will vote back.
Flaming. This is simple; don't be rude for the sake of being rude. Just don't. You don't like it I am sure, I don't like it, and I am sure most everyone else doesn't like it either. Be constructive if you are going to criticize.
Voters...Yeah you know the ones I mean.
Hello voters/commenters. Yes you guys. The rest of us. Please vote fairly. Friends first. Just because they are a friend doesn't mean they get a '10.' That is unfair to those of us who don't make it a hobby to stuff their friends list with as many people as possible for just such a thing. If you have 200 "friends" vote you a '10' your score goes up unfairly possibly elevating you to a position of prize earning that you didn't, well, earn. Don't vote a '10' for your friend just because, be honest, that is what real friends are anyways.
Now for you who expect nothing not expensive. 'Wow, there are some cheap items on there' 'It looks cheap' 'You have a newb shirt/shoes/pants/whatever' 'You have (something) but couldn’t afford something other than (that)' yeah you guys are freaking retards. So what if it is only 50 G?! If it matches the freakin' outfit it matches!!!!! If the shirt is a 60,000 G shirt and the pants are 100 G who cares?! What is your problem? Would you buy a $300 pair of shoes because of the price or brand as opposed to $20 shoes that match your outfit better? If you answered yes to the above question you are a sad pathetic person who needs a reality check. Expensive does not mean better in real life nor does it mean better in avatars. Yes, you just read something that made sense congratulations you would get a cookie but it doesn't cost anything so you wouldn't want it.
Donation item bans. Whatever, get over it, go somewhere else. Donation items are cool and can give some people some really awesome ideas. So what if the week donation items come out everyone uses them? That is no reason to give someone a '0'. I don't care if they have a new donation item as long as they aren't "selling" the item instead of the avatar. Now if they drench the avatar in every possible way with the item and then title it after the item and then describe the items, yeah that is '0' worthy, but just because they use an element of the new item(s) doesn't mean they are trying to cash in on something popular, they were just given an idea. Yes, most of them will have the same idea but that is because the items are usually themed and people tend to follow themes.
Avatar Auctions!!!!
This is solely for those who buy a pre-set outfit and enter it. Sure you can make a great description to go with it and have nice hair style and pretty jewelry but you ain't getting a '10' maybe not a '0' but no '10.' Sorry but I do like a bit of uniqueness to avatars, and by uniqueness I mean independent thought. Not cookie cutter prints.
My Voting Style
Well voting is mostly opinions but I still think people should vote fairly. My rules,
1) Title (does it fit the description and/or the avatar?
2) Looks at the avatar and decides what it is
3) Reads the description. Does it match the avatar? Did I get it right when I looked at the avatar? (does not necessarily hurt the vote if I didn't)
4) Was there thought in the description or is it just rambling or crap?
5) Was there thought in the avatar? Did this person actually try or did they just put on something and entered it?
6) Is it at least their version of originality? (Hard to get original amongst millions)
7) Did they beg or command or insult the reader. (I must add to this rule because some people apparently take it wrong. So I mean, did they beg or command or insult the reader to try and get some votes.
cool Vote
Also I do not always comment. If I am not moved to comment I don't. If I am I do, simple as that.
Ending Entries.........in this page...
Well I hope you enjoyed my little school of avatar arena etiquette and behavior. I know it is all opinions and you can disagree, but I bet you agreed on some stuff. Huh? I bet you did, you know why? Because I am right. That is why.
Now get out there and enter, describe, vote, and comment to your hearts content!!
