i sat there...looking anxious....
he had been crying that night...
he had been pleading to get through to me...
today, i'd find out why...

he tells me
she thinks she going to have his kid
i hold my breathe
and say
you haven't...done that...with her...have you?
I imagine that,
he looks up at me...his tears streaming now
as he says
i...i might have...

i clench my jaw and fists
i look down, i hide my face behind my hair
my tears slip out, but i have to hide them
lest others should see them leaking

i whisper his name
he apologizes and says he shouldn't have
i tell him its his life
he can do whatever
i'm tryign to be detached
as this eats away at my insides

he's so guilty
so hurt
he says my emotions must be scrambled
i tell him not worry about that

because in the end, even i don't worry about it till later
right now, i comfort him...
