Yes, so I bought Fatal Frame III: The Tormented a little while ago, and now I've finally started playing it. I have to say- like the previous games, it just as disturbing as the others.
You start off the game as Rei Kurosawa- a photographer who lost her fiance in a car crash. Lately though, you could swear that you've been seeing his ghost wander around. Are you just dellusional? Or are these signs?
Not only that, but you've been getting these really weird nightmares- you find yourself in a large abandoned house. The thing is, it's infested with ghosts that died horribly before. And I mean pretty badly.
Whenever you wake up after this nightmare, a funny bruise that looks a lot like a tattoo appears on your back. The even odder thing is that it continues to grow. What the hell is this? Are all of these incidents linked?
So yeah, the game is damn creepy. Why I bought a game that shall never allow me to sleep, I don't know. Still, you find out the games are much more closely related than what you thought.
The camera is back- I now know that there was more than one made, so that makes a lot more sense for the two other games. It's pretty much the same as the others, but I'm having troubles aiming because the ghosts appear out of freakin' nowhere and they're damn fast.
Memo to self- Half naked female ghosts covered in blue tattoos, running after you with a knife is not a good sign in the least.
Memo to self No.2- Little ghost girls crying quietly in corners isn't a good sign either.
Yeah, it's freaky. Then there's the chanting... oh god, the chanting. No matter how many times I've played this series, the random moaning and mumbles always creep me out. For me, it always means a bad thing. There's this one child ghost that you fight that always goes and screams. "You killed Daddy!" She's not exactly saying it to you, but just the way she says it is freaky. You also encounter her mother, but I can't exactly remember what she says. The kid is harder though. She's always running around and dispappearing. At least with the others, they're more straight on.
Blood stained walls, freaky dolls... The Manor of Sleep always have something to creep you out. I'm still debating if it's freakier than the Himoru Mansion though. I'll tell you when I'm done.
If you're up for a good scare though, pick up this series. It will really be worth it. I think the other two are probably going at $20 or less each, so you won't be spending too much on it. It doesn't really matter if you don't get them before you play the third one though. It's pretty easy to understand and follow.
