I was sent a forward this morning that just threw me for a loop. Ok it actually made me want to tell the person who sent to to me that their praise of it was highly unworthy and whoever actually wrote it was not thinking straight. So I am putting it in here instead.

Read the first part which is supposedly from comedian Bill Cosby. After reading it go on and read what I had to say.

I HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE.
HERE IS MY PLATFORM:

(1) Press 1 for English is immediately banned. English is the
official language; speak it or wait at the border until you can.

(2) We will immediately go into a two year isolationist posture to
straighten out the country's attitude. NO imports, no exports.
We will use the 'Wal-Mart' policy, 'If we ain't got it, you don't need it.'

(3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.

(4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one
of our many observation towers on the southern border.
(six month tour). They will be under strict orders not to fire
on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

(5) Social security will immediately return to its original state.
If you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't gettin nuttin out. The
president nor any other politician will not be able to touch it.

(6) Welfare - Checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of
the 40 hour school week and the successful completion of
urinalysis and a passing grade.

(7) Professional Athletes --Steroids - The FIRST time you check
positive you're banned for life.

cool Crime - We will adopt the Turkish method, the first time you
steal, you lose your right hand. There are no more life sentences.
If convicted, you will be put to death by the same method you
chose for your victim; gun, knife, strangulation, etc.

(9) One export will be allowed; Wheat. The world needs to eat.
A bushel of wheat will be the exact price of a barrel of oil.

(10) All foreign aid using American taxpayer money will
immediately cease, and the saved money will pay off the
national debt and ultimately lower taxes. When disasters
occur around the world, we'll ask the American people
if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen
can make the decision whether it's a worthy cause.

(11) The Pledge of Allegiance will be said every day at school
and every day in Congress.

(12) The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate
ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.

Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes but a vote for me will get you
better than what you have, and better than what you're gonna get.

ok here is my reply to the person that sent it to me that I didn't actually sent it to...

He has changed. I think he has gotten harder as he has gotten older too.
I don't think my dh should have to should have to go and spend more time in the military watching the border when he already did his time in and then went to the middle east on the first go around too.
I do agree on the one thing more then any of the rest though. The foreign aid for disasters. Americans as a whole are generous and if we let them decide what to send of their own money it wiould be a good thing. We might actually be sending more money then the government would send in. Especially if the collections were taken up town by town and city by city.
The steroids thing is good too. Atheletes are role models. When they take these drugs they are cheeters. I don't want those kinds of people being role models.
Stealing bread to feed your children and loose a hand policy is not a good idea. We have enough women and men in prison that wrote hot checks simply to feed their children and nothing more. I don't want them to loose their body parts too. Believe it or not... in this country there are places where you can't really get help. And in places where there is they won't help some people or people don't know about it. Its not that they don't work. After they paid their bills after working all week there simply was nothing left. Some mothers and fathers in this country still go without to feed their children.
We import what we exported in the first place as a new item. like the cotton we ship to othe countries into shirts that get sold back to us so we can sell them to our people in our own stores here in the good old USA. This also gives us better foreign relations with those countries.
11 and 12 are perfect. Simply put.
If the social security were set up the way its stated here and my husband dies and I can not work at all I will starve to death in some ally somewhere trying to find something to eat. And there will be a lot of people who actually wanted to raise their own kids themselves in that alley with me. Not that we didn't work you see. Its just that we chose to do our own work ourselves instead of paying someone else to do it for us while we go to work for someone else. There should be a bonus somewhere for people who raise their children in their own homes. Instead of having people they don't know raise them elsewhere. We might see more kids tended to and less neglect by parents and less people in our prisons in the long run. Some people however have to send their kids to sitters, day cares etc because they don't have a choice. Hell, if Bill Cosby's idea were to come to light then there would be no choice. All children would be raised outside the home just so people could say they had to do it incase they did live to be old and needed the social security. I guess all people who are who can't work such as the people born handicapped would all have to be institutionalized from birth because their parents would have to think about themselves.
Some of the stuff we get from imports is used to make medicines. We can not grow it here. We can not make it here. The conditions are not right. If we resort to Wal-Marts policy of "if we don't have it you don't need it"... then a lot of people would die. Last time I looked Wal-Mart doesn't carry carborators. I guess I throw the car away if it breaks down because of that kind of policy. too bad in this case we will be talking about people.
I would like to see every person who wants to live in this country learn English. But the question is... does every american who moves to another country learn that language too? They should. Classes should be offered in all countries for those coming and going. And those classes should be free. When we send our soldiers to other countries to live to do their duty they and their families should be required to learn the language of the country they will be living in. For their own safty.
I don't know anything about the state of our welfare system. What I do know is my husband was in the air force. When he got out neither of us could find work. We used up all of our savings to get back into what we call the real world. I tried to get help. But the offices told us our car was too new. We couldn't get any help. We lived on pinto beans and hotdogs for a while until my husband found a job. That required us to move. Again. We then had no money for a long time from doing that. But at least we could add some vegetables to our poor diet. But then came a lay off. Again I could get no help. We called the people who we were paying for the car. And they came and got it. We were still expected to pay the full price of the car and we had no money because unemployment barely payed what few bills we did have. Water, rent, electric, and gas. We were back to pinto beans and hot dogs. For special occasions it was mac and cheese but only the genaric brands. Occasionally some nice neighbor would give us a plastic bag of garden veggies. That was concidered a feast. We weren't allowed to have a garden at our rent house. Again he got his job back and we moved and again he was laid off. But this time he took another job where he worked after a few weeks until his old job became available again. Those times I did ask for help they told me I could get help if I left my husband and went to a battered womens shelter with my children. I was not abused and I was not going to split my family up. We managed. But some people can't. That is all I know about the welfare system.

I hope that maybe someone will learn something from this. Maybe I don't have everything just right but I have thought this stuff through a little. If you want to comment on this just pm me and I might add you to an article later and that includes people that don't like what I had to say. I realize not everyone will agree with me. That is ok and maybe I wll learn something from them as well.
