Hi! I am finally getting back to the story.

I forgot to mention that while you were in the store with your friend that you had to use the bathroom and the store clerk said that it was for employee's only but you could use the one in the gas station across the highway. you end up holding it until you take your friend home.

If you read yesterday's post you will understand this and if you haven't... you won't understand so much of what I am going to say next so you might want to go back and read that journal entry first.

Now for the story you couldn't see.
Right before you get to the store an ambulance pulls away. Its the one you passed about 5 blocks back. The ambulance is taking a man who just had a heart attack to the hospital. The man barely got the car with his wife in it pulled into the parking lot before he passed out from the attack.

The woman who stole your parking spot you waited for is running to get her neighbors prescription. The old lady is out of her prescription and no one has checked in on her in days. She is sick with the flu and weak. She is very sick now because she hasn't had her medication too. The lady you just saw noticed that there was more then one newspaper on the porch and was worried because her nighbor loved to read her morning paper. She knocked on the door and didn't get an answer. She called her on the cell phone and the old lady picks up but can barely say hello. She tells her to wait. She manages to get into the house to help the old lady. She isn't so bad off that she needs to go to the hospital but she is pretty sick. The doc tell her to make sure she gets her medication and so she takes the lady back home and runs to get her medicaton.

Your friend is having a hard time. She just lost her job and is ashamed of it. She only has $1.50 left and she has to buy bread with it if she is going to eat this week. She is thinking she should really be out looking for a job. while you are asking for directions to the bathroom she is talking to another employee there about getting an application but is told all the job slots are filled. She is very affraid that she won't be able to find another job so she can eat and pay her rent and her simple bills. She lives very simply but even that costs money.

The poor store clerk is having a bad day. After seeing something is very wrong in the parking lot she runs to the phone and calls 911. She is still shook up from this when you talk to her. She was still upset from getting yelled at because she let someone use the store bathroom yesterday and the person clogged it up and wrote all over the walls (after she had cleaned it and so she didn't bother to check it again). Her manager told her if she let someone use the bathroom there again she would be fired. It was bad enough that the manager made her unclog the toilet and clean up the bathroom.

So you see, don't get angry at everything. Wonder why, maybe but don't get mad all of the time. It doesn't do anyone any good. Sometimes we get so mad over things we don't understand. Would we have gotten so mad if we had known that the man who drove the car taking up two spots was dieing due to a heart attack? Would we have been so mad if we had known that our friend just lost her job? Would we have been so mad if we had known the woman who took the parking space we were waiting for was more concerned about the old lady? Would we have been so mad at the clerk if we had known she would get fired if she let us use the bathroom?
