POEM 47 - Think About Me For Once

Not once in the last year,
Has anyone said,
"How are you feeling Dale?
It's good that you're not dead?"

I see your love for someone else,
I know I'm distant, but I'm still here,
You're too busy thinking of yourself,
A love I used to hold dear,

For once I'd thought I loved,
A task that now seems harder than my education,
A fire now extinguished by the sea,
A hard, but needed, eternity long vacation,

The love to you may seem dead and gone,
But the ghost of it remains,
Haunting my dreams, my soul, my life,
It's hard to get rid of stains.


A bit of a crap poem, but meh. For once, in possibly the past year, I'd thought I'd found the person I love, but today - in fact, minutes ago - they thought it isn't working out, and now I'm dead inside. Dead.

I don't seem to be able to convey feelings at the moment, other than this rage that's building up in me at the moment that I can't seem to let go of. I'm back where I was when I started this god forsaken school, back in February 2007.
