POEM 57 - I remember...
I remember when you used to laugh
At all my stupid jokes,
I remember the way you cried
When I made you choke,
I remember when you used to smile
At every guy who glanced your way,
I remember when you looked to the side
When you had nothing left to say,
I remember when you said you loved me
But didn’t smile at the time,
I remember the way you ended your messages
After saying everything’s fine,
I remember the life you used to have
Before I intervened,
I remember the way you ruined my life
And the way you always dreamed
Of becoming an actress on the stage
And not a hooker on the street,
I bet you didn’t expect to remain
Always at six feet.
