POEM 54 - Innocent Adolescence
Old enough to know better,
Obviously to young to care,
You prance around with your eyeliner,
And bouncy frilly hair,
You drink and drink until there's nothing left,
Smash the bottle up against the wall,
You move it closer to your wrist,
And the blood begins to fall,
You search for some new friends,
Fall in love, in and out again,
Refuse to notice the ones close by,
And continue to pretend,
You hold the rope above your head,
Kick away the chair from beneath,
It tightens back around your neck,
And you watch your dangling feet,
Your mother crashes through the door,
Screams ripping through her throat,
You smile, begin to cough up blood,
And feel yourself being fully choked,
The room begins to darken,
You begin to see the light,
But then you wake up,
And find yourself in the middle of the night,
Held down by many restraints,
You're in a room of god knows what length,
You smell the scent of medicine,
And find that you can't move your legs,
You suspect that it's a hospital,
But you're not really sure,
And a hand claps over your mouth,
And you hear the slam of the door,
You cry, you cry, and cry again,
But the sound of your screams isn't there in the end,
You shake and shiver, the room darkens again,
And I whisper that "I love you, until the end."
Originally written as a song. I rather like this with a singy song tune to it. I might write a tune to it soon enough and then record it and stuffs. Who knows? The possibilities are endless! I think. Oh well.
