POEM 56 - Her
A man stands on the corner of the street,
Eyes dazing, rain tapping on his feet,
Other's walk by and stare,
But all he can think about is her,
Clothes pinch at his skin, and cars hum by,
Birds and planes cross the night sky,
Eyes are tickled by drenched locks of hair,
But all he can think about is her,
Painful memories pass over his eyes,
As he relives all the past's pain and lies,
Heart fills with a distant fear,
And all he can think about is her,
Knuckles bleed and eyes blur,
As the man's mind begins to stir,
He falls into a deep black sleep,
Too afraid to make the leap,
Thought begin to split into two and the voice begins to slur,
But as he dies and drifts away, all he can think about is her.
Bah. Finally another poem. I hate myself right now. I'll just leave this here.
