POEM 8 - The Masquerade Ball
I open the big doors,
Everyone's already dancing,
Noone takes notice of me,
There's just a few people glancing,
I walk into the middle,
The ball room floor,
And there I see,
The girl which I adore,
I only notice her,
Because of her long golden hair,
And her sleek, tall form,
Of which I find fair,
I walk over to her,
And offer my hand,
And the music increases,
From the violin band,
I bow and she stands up,
Still holding my human paw,
And I lead her to the dance,
And she seemed to adore,
The music which was played,
And for that I will remember,
That the date which we danced,
Was the eleventh of November,
And we danced and we danced,
At a reasonable pace,
Until our masks fell off,
And I looked at her face,
This wasn't the girl,
Of which I adored,
But now I saw,
How much I adored this girl more,
She seemed to have,
The same look on her face,
As she looked at me,
Not a sign of disgrace,
We replaced our masks,
And left the room,
And as soon as we did,
We exchanged a kiss in the light of the moon,
It was a brilliant kiss,
Of which I'll remember,
The day that we kissed,
The eleventh of November...
I'm pretty pleased with this. I got the idea from the poll on Black Rose High. Wow, I didn't think I had wrote this much. Wicked. I've just noticed how many poems I have written today. Wow.
