"I’m pregnant, with your child InuYasha," Kagome started to cry with happiness.
"Kagome," InuYasha studderd "I love you with all my heart."

It had been 5 months since Kagome had told InuYasha the news. She told him that she could only travel with him for a couple months more then she would need to go home and wait to give birth. InuYasha said he would search for more shards until the baby was born then he would look for the rest of them.
InuYasha stood in front of the well that once brought the two of them both together. InuYasha could not believe that once he despised Kagome, now, he couldn’t get enough of her. Kagome came behind InuYasha and put her hand on his shoulder.
"Once you come back for me, we will all come back here and live as a family," Kagome said to InuYasha, trying to make him feel better. InuYasha turned to Kagome and said to her,
"I promise, I will come back for you," InuYasha said to her. Kagome smiled then kissed him.
"I will come back," Kagome waved to Miroku and Sango as well as Lady Kaede. Shippo was coming with the two.

Kagome walked up to her house afraid to knock. InuYasha stood behind her. Kagome knocked and her brother came to the door. He smiled hugely and called for his mother and grandfather.
"What is it Souta?" Kagome’s mother came to the door and saw her daughter that she had not seen for so long standing there.
"Hi mom…I’m home." Kagome held back her tears.
Kagome’s mother bursted into tears and wrapped her arms around Kagome. Kagome cried onto her mother’s shoulder. Meanwhile InuYasha bent down to talk to Shippo.
"Listen Shippo, I have seen you with Kagome, you two are best friends almost. So that’s why I want you to stay with her while I’m gone. I need you to watch over her and my child."
"Yes Inuyasha! I will, I promise!" Shippo was so happy to be able to be with Kagome.
Kagome finally let go of her mother and went to see InuYasha.
"I’ll be one minute." Kagome said to her family (including Shippo).
Kagome walked up to InuYasha they talked for a while about what was going to happen. Their was a pause, and Kagome didn’t waste it she hugged InuYasha tightly.
"I’ll miss you so much!" Kagome cried to InuYasha.
"Me too Kagome"
" I don’t want to leave you!"
" I will come back for you when the baby is being born then I will travel back to the feudel era, and find the rest of the jewel shards, then I will take you back to my time and we will live there."
Kagome cried on his shoulder. He wiped away her tears and kissed her. Then told her he would be back in 4 months. She watched him go down the well. Hoping that he would not forget about her.

Kagome was breathing heavily. Her mother swirved through the wet roads and swung the car around every sharp corner. InuYasha was flung to the window and bounced back and forth.
"I told you to put on your seatbelt InuYasha!" Kagome’s mother yelled to the now crippled boy. InuYasha muttered something to himself. The car came to a stop. In big lights a sign read HOSPITAL. Kagome threw back a baseball hat and shoes for InuYasha to wear. The three of them raced out of the car and into the hospital.

"What a lovely little girl," the nurse said through her teeth. InuYasha could tell she was disgusted.
"HEY! If you have a problem with my daughter, take it up with me!" InuYasha screamed to the woman. The nurse rolled her eyes and left the room.
"InuYasha look," Kagome held their new daughter in her hands.
"She’s beautiful," said Inuyasha.
"Yes, our little Kaede," Kagome said with glee, "would you like to hold her?" Inuyasha took the newborn in his arms. She smiled at him and he smiled back. Just then the doctor came in.
"Hello again. Now I don’t mean to alarm you but there is some deformity in this young child," he pointed to the baby’s ears and tiny fanged teeth.
"Listen doc if you think you are just going to hand her over to that bunch of scientists out there you better…" InuYasha was cut off by Kagome.
" I know this is no deformity. This was to be expected. Can you please just let us leave without further study on her." The doctor smiled at Kagome.
"Don’t worry. You can leave tomorrow night."
Kagome smiled at InuYasha.

"How could he do this to you!" Kagome’s mother’s voice shook the whole house. It had been 3 years since Kagome had seen InuYasha. He had left just like he said to get the rest of the shards. Kagome’s mother had just walked in on Kagome crying.
"Listen mom he said he would come back and I believe him." As much as Kagome wanted to believe that herself it was hard.
"I knew he was going to leave you!"
"I’m going to check on Kaede and Shippo, goodnight!"
Kagome ran upstairs and walked in to see eleven- year- old Shippo and 3- year- old Kaede sleeping soundly. Shippo had grown to be almost up to Kagome’s waist! As for young Kaede, she had jet-black hair just like her mother and her mothers eyes she also had her mothers caring ability. But she also had black ears like her father (although her father’s were white) and fangs like her father not to mention long nails too. She also had his temper and impaiteince, which reminded everyone of InuYasha. Also when she was mad, her eyes would be yellow like her father’s.
Kagome’s eyes filled with tears as she thought of InuYasha and all the journeys they had made. She was now scared something had happened. Kagome just sat there watching her daughter and Shippo. Thinking about it so much she knew that something was wrong. She grabbed a blanket and was ready to leave in the morning. She looked at the clock. It read 4:15. Kagome was worried that her mother would not let her go so she left a note for her family letting them know where she was. She took Kaede in her arms and silently woke up Shippo. Kagome brought her strap on carrage and put Kaede in it. They then went to the bone eater’s well. When they got to the well, Kagome grabbed Shippo’s hand. Before they jumped, Kagome said to herself, ‘InuYasha, I’m coming for you!’

Kagome climbed up the vines and out into the place where she fell in love. Shippo walked around observing his surroundings to see if anything had changed. Young Kaede yawned and stretched her arms as she awoke. She looked at her new surroundings and was frightened, but soon got used to the new scenery. She tugged at her mother’s shirt and whined to get down to walk around. Kagome felt uneasy about letting her down but agreed. As soon as she let her down, Kaede asked her mother what they were doing there.
"We are looking for daddy," said Kagome to the young inquirer.
"I miss daddy," Kaede lowered her head.
A tear came to Kagome’s eye. She reassured her daughter that they would find him. When all was quiet, Kaede lifted her head and smelled the air. She then shot into the air. She was flying!
"I didn’t know she could fly like her father!" said Shippo with a smile on his face.
"We have to get her!" Kagome and Shippo ran after Kaede. She landed on the ground and ran into a hut that looked very familiar to Kagome. Kagome yelled for Kaede. Kaede walked into the hut and was talking to someone.
"Hello! I’m Kaede! What’s your name?" Kaede acted so friendly.
Just then Lady Kaede walked out of the hut. Kagome shouted Lady Kaede’s name and she walked over and gave Kagome a hug.
"Kagome! What on Earth are ye doing in this feudel era?" Lady Kaede asked Kagome.
"I have come to look for InuYasha," tears swelled up in Kagome’s eyes as she said this.

Kagome watched as the flames from the fire lit up little Kaede’s face as she slept beside it. Shippo lay beside her.
"We shall find ye InuYasha. And I will travel with ye," Lady Kaede said to Kagome.
"Thank-you, he has been gone so long. I am just worried."
" Ye should get some sleep. We shall search in the morning for InuYasha,"
"I guess you’re right," Kagome grabbed a blanket and fell asleep.
Late into the night, Kaede’s ears perked up. She sat up and heard something outside. She got up and went outside in search of the sound.
Kagome’s eyes opened. She yawned and sat up. One of a mother’s fears is to wake up and no see your child there. Kagome screamed for her daughter. Lady Kaede and Shippo woke up to the scream. All three grabbed their stuff and ran to find the young hanyou.

They searched everywhere but the child was nowhere to be seen. Kagome collapsed and cried into her hands. Just then Lady Kaede shouted ‘I see something!’ and pointed to the side of the creek. Kagome was frightened about what she might see.
When they got to the creek, they saw Kaede bent over talking to a flea. Kaede turned around.
"Hi mommy!" Kaede shouted.
The flea jumped on Kagome’s shoulder and tried to talk to her. But before he could speak, Kagome flung the flea off of her shoulder.
"Kaede get away from it!" Kagome shouted to her daughter.
Kagome then looked closely at the flea, it was Myouga! Kagome picked the injured flea up in her hands.
"Oh Myouga! I am so sorry," Kagome apologized to him.
"There is no time for apologies Lady Kagome! We must help Lord Inuyasha!"
Kagome’s whole body froze when she heard InuYasha was in trouble.
