Adventure #4: O RLY?
Tara, Kali and Gwee were walking down a path in the woods early one morning. They were going to see the sunrise. They had all decided to do this the day before.
"I haven't seen a sunrise in a long time!" Kali exclaimed.
"ME EITHER!" Gwee said with a smile.
So the three of them decided to get up a bit early and go see the sunrise instead of flying with the ducks that morning. Tara knew the best place to see the sun rise, but you had to walk through the woods to get there.
Kali and Gwee were flying a bit ahead of Tara, when they heard Tara scream loudly.
"AH WTF?" Tara yelled.
Kali and Gwee quickly turned around to find an O RLY owl perched on Tara's head.
"GET IT OFF GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!" Tara yelled running around in circles.
Kali and Gwee both stared at Tara for a moment, and the O RLY owl started hooting in time with Tara's screams.
"O RLY?"
"GET IT OFF!"
"O RLY?"
"GET IT OFF!"
Kali and Gwee both fell down to the ground laughing at the sight.
Tara fell down too, exhausted from running around so much.
"IT WON'T COME OFF!" Tara said nearly in tears.
"I'LL BREATHE FIRE AT IT!" Gwee said angrily. "NO ONE MAKES MY MOMMY CRY!"
The O RLY owl suddenly got a fighting look in his eye and put up his fists, hooting something that sounded oddly like "SRSLY!"
Tara opened her mouth wide, but not wanting a fight said "ERRRRRR...No Gwee. He isn't hurting me. And you said you'd only use your fire breath to protect me."
"I guess so..." Gwee said, disapointed that she couldn't help. The O RLY owl got a smug look on his face.
"I'll scare him away!" Kali said. She flew up right next to his head and screamed "QUACK!!!" The O RLY just kept on smiling smuggly.
"I guess I'll just have to keep him on my head..." Tara said sighing a bit. She glanced at her watch and the declared "OH MY GOD! We are going to miss the sunrise if we don't hurry!"
The three of them, or more like the four of them, watched the sunrise, each declaring it was the most amazing sunrise only to have the owl say "O RLY?" each time. Kali and Gwee were both getting very tired with the owl.
Later they walked back through the woods, listening to the O RLY question everything they said.
By the time they got home they were all ready to kill the O RLY. Tara got ready for work amidst the O RLY having a conversation with itself.
"O RLY? NO WAI! YA WAI! SRSLY? O RLY? NO WAI! YA WAI!" it continued over and over again.
"YOU ARE LIKE THE MOST ANNOYING THING EVER!" the normally calm Tara screamed. "NO ONE IS GOING TO BUY ANYTHING AT MY STORE TODAY WITH YOU ON MY HEAD!"
"Can we go to work with you Tara?" Kali said. "We can try to get him off you while you work!"
Tara, who normally didn't allow Kali an Gwee to work with her because she was afraid they'd get in the way nodded her head yes. She was at her wits end.
So all day Kali and Gwee tried to get the O RLY owl off Tara's head. Gwee tempted him with food, Kali flew around him shouting "BOO!" and Tara pounded her head on her table in fustration. Still the owl refused to budge.
Tara walked home, looking sad. Her normally busy shop had been empty all day. Kali and Gwee flew behind her a bit, upset at not being able to help out Tara.
Kali suddenly turned towards Gwee and whispered something in her ear. They both flew off towards the woods. Tara didn't notice and kept walking.
Then suddenly, the O RLY owl left Tara's head. Tara looked up, astonished. "Huh?" she said, looking bemused.
Kali and Gwee flew up to Tara and giggled. "LOOK TARA!" Gwee said, pointing up at the sky. Tara looked and saw that the O RLY owl was flying around another O RLY. "We found him a girlfriend!"
Tara laughed. The all walked home. Tara noticed that the leaves were changing colors and falling around. Autumn had arrived.
