The great journey for the Edmonton Oilers has come to a crashing end. They lost the battle against the Carolina Hurricanes for the almighty Stanley Cup.
This Playoff final Game 7 brought back all those devastating memories from two years ago. In 2004, my home town team, the Calgary Flames, lost against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Flames' journey to the Playoff finals was dubbed as a "Cinderella story" and they were also the underdog team; it's a terrible feeling to watch them lose. The same happened two nights ago with Edmonton.
Even though I don't normally cheer for the Oilers at all, I still wanted to see a Canadian team bring home the Cup. Ah well, at least the Oilers eliminated the Ducks. That's pretty much all I care about because the Ducks are also the ones who knocked the Flames out in the first round of the Playoffs.
