Seven months into my martial arts and I have to put it on the backburner. Today, I got the approval from my manager to take courses through continuing education at SAIT. I'm going to work towards earning the Upstream Petroleum Industry certificate. It's a seven course certificate, each course is one month in length... so it'll take me til the end of the year to complete. It will be all paid for by the organization. Unfortunately, the course schedule conflicts with my martial arts classes.
I had to figure out what's more important to me at the moment... and I decided that higher education is more important. My quest towards earning my black belt will now take longer than originally planned, but it's only a minor setback. I will still be attending my Saturday morning classes. So it's not too terribly bad.
