Hated. Absolutely hated mornings. Burring herself deeper under the covers she tried to block out the noise that was already filtering in under her door. Seriously! It was what? Eight or something? Her room mates obviously didn’t understand she’d had a very, very long night! The intent when she’d gone out last night was to be home for at least two am. That turned into 530. So she’d literally just crawled into bed after a ten minute shower. Valerie hated getting into bed with dirt clinging to her body. It made her sheets all the more unappealing to her. “ GUYS!” her voice came blaring out from under her pillow only to dwindled to a meek plea of mercy, “ keep it down.” days like today was the reason she hated the fact that she hadn’t chosen the bedroom furthest from the kitchen. Her midnight cravings were going to be the death of her. A few cries of frustration came from between her lush lips. The sheets were tossed to the floor in a fit of defeat.
Valerie dragged herself out of bed. She was wearing some lacy number as usual. The swell of her breast were more than open for commentary. Pair of silken shorts she wore didn’t help as they only barely clung to her hips. But, you couldn’t’ tell Valerie that. She was open with her sexuality and didn’t care about showing off her body. If someone wanted to look…well they’d just have to look wouldn’t they. Shoving her feet into her house slippers Valerie made her way out of her bedroom and to the dining room. Throwing herself in sofa that curled around the table Valerie called out to whomever was in the kitchen, “ you owe me breakfast for waking me up.”
“ Evie!!!….EVVVIE!!! Are you up yet?” Valerie figured if she was. Well everyone else should be up as well. It wasn’t eight in the morning as she figured. It was actually…one in the afternoon. Valerie was glad no one was around to notice her embarrassment. There would be questions and she didn’t want to answer by saying how she’d foolishly believed it was eight in the morning. Wasn’t her fault! She had to catch up on her sleep damn it. Doctors said a person should have at least eight hours of sleep to function well. She was trying to catch up on her fair share.
It was Friday. Fridays were ….well great. She didn’t have class and was free to laze about the house. Now she was busying trying to figure out how to drag one of her room mates into an unplanned day that promised to be filled with adventure! They would more than likely have something planned. Valerie believed she must have been one of the only people in the house that did things last minute. She couldn’t help it really. There were so many things to do how did you just pick one and go with it? Not to mention the fact that her phone was normally going off with invites to random places around town. She really was going to stop giving her number out to random strangers. One day. What! She liked people. Besides, most of the time it wasn’t the people you met once that hurt you. The deadliest people where those that were close to you. That’s a lesson she’d come to learn through personal experience. But, she wasn’t ready to face that brand of heartache this morning.
Breakfast was taking too long. Sliding out the booth she made her way into the kitchen. Standing in the door way her hands akimbo; she frowned at the person at the stove, “ what’s the big deal? I’m hungry.” Walking to the ridge she pulled out a pear and jumped on the kitchen counter by the sink so she wouldn’t hit her head on any of the cupboards. Taking a bite of her pear she leaned her head against the wall, “ so where’d you go last night? What are your plans for today? What the hell was all that noise earlier? Was someone over?”
