Have you ever seen a picture of an anorexic person? Did you notice the shape of their arms?
I'm only asking this because I think T. might be anorexic. Either that or his metabolism is impossibly fast. I want to know for sure so that I can start force-feeding him cheeseburgers if he is.
Well, I've always known T. was thin. If his hands didn't tip me off, his profile did. But in the past six months I've noticed that he's getting (if it's possible) even thinner. It wasn't until about two months ago that I also noticed that he never wears a short-sleeved shirt, even when it's boiling outside. I'd never even seen his wrists until today. When he reached for his coat or something on the floor, his sleeve caught on his chair and shifted about halfway up his arm, and the part of the arm that I saw looked exactly like the pictures I mentioned at the start of this entry. Sort of rectangular, and no muscle anywhere, just skin stretched tight over bone. Well, it explains the long-sleeved shirts. First, there's no insulating muscle or fat, so he'd feel cold no matter what the weather. Second, a number of anorexics (obviously not the ones who become models) feel the need to hide any weight loss.
(As a note, he was fine in a T-shirt for Phys. Ed. last year. His arms definitely didn't look like they do now.)
On the other hand, it could just be one of my delusions and he could be perfectly fine other than being a little skinny. Think what you want.
