You've probably heard of One Piece. I'll be designing a few Devil Fruits from it. And yes, they are unbalanced. If you haven't noticed, having a Devil Fruit appears to be an "I Win" button for just about everybody who's eaten one compared to everybody who hasn't. The not being able to swim thing is only hazardous in naval campaigns, so that'd be the only place it's recommended a few of these show up.
These are being designed as feats.
Gomu-Gomu Fruit [General]
Prerequisites: Must have found and eaten the Gomu-Gomu Fruit
Benefits: People who take this feat get +10' reach and gain DR 5/Non-Bludgeoning. Special: They lose all ranks in the Swim skill they may have possessed and are not allowed to gain new ranks in the Swim skill.
Bom-Bom Fruit [General]
Prerequisites: Must have found and eaten the Bom-Bom Fruit
Benefits: The Body parts of people who take this feat are now bombs that activate on the owner's command. Explosions from body parts act as a Fireball spell (Caster Level 6th) but can only affect a 5ft diameter. Whoever takes this feat is immune to the explosions, but take all other fire damage normally.
Special: They lose all ranks in the Swim skill they may have possessed and are not allowed to gain new ranks in the Swim skill.
Smooth Fruit [General]
Prerequisites: Must have found and eaten the Smooth Fruit
Benefits: Characters who take this feat gain a healthy body weight for their race (if they're overweight) and gain DR 10/-. They also automatically suceed on any Escape Artist checks made to break free from a grapple.
Special: They lose all ranks in the Swim skill they may have possessed and are not allowed to gain new ranks in the Swim skill.
