Poem 37 - Hannah and Parker, Sitting in a Tree

You'll never know,
What I'm feeling right now,
But deep in my soul,
I know that somehow,

You feel the same,
I know... think... you do,
But you're with him all the time,
It makes me feel like a fool,

How could you like him,
That treacherous, lying swine,
Do you not know,
What he said about friends of mine?

He accused them of assault,
Even got the cops involved,
He's not admitted to it yet,
But hopefully this bad deed will not go unresolved,

Your love, how I hate him so,
He's small, annoying, the opposite of me,
He's a liar, a double agent,
He's crowded and even loved by thee,

Yet you still have one of my poccessions,
Forever wrapped around your wrist,
As I have yours, day and night,
One of the dearest items on my list,

You're even best-friends with one I used to love,
Someone I still hold close to my heart,
And, all this said, I hope by year ten,
We don't have to forever part,

I love you, just as I loved once ago,
This being just the second time in my life,
I'm not one to fall prey to this emotion,
Not when an alternative is a silver knife.


I'm pretty proud of this one, besides the odd section or two. The boy is called 'Parker', and - simply because he doesn't like my friends - he accused my friends of hitting him continuously off of his bike with logs. I know my friends - they would never do that. To make matters worse, the girl I love (Hannah) is going out with him. I know I shouldn't feel this way, but I was actually happy the other day when he got beaten up by Akil for being racist.
