"The internet is a series of tubes"
"And again, the Internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's a series of tubes. And if you don't understand those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and it's going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material." - Ted Stevens, Chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation at the time of the quote.

I'm feeling really lazy right now, namely because my home's series of tubes was destroyed somehow yesternoon and I had to re-configure everything, which is just a major pain. So I copy/pasted pretty much all this entry from an e-mail I sent my brother. Excuse me if some parts sound like they're talking to him.

Wow, so this week was interesting.

Alright, so Starcraft 2. Not much is known about it at the moment other than Korea almost literally imploded when the site was launched. It takes place after Brood War, starring new characters with some old ones being brought up and very likely appearing in games, like Kerrigan and such. So far only Protoss information has been released, however just from screenshots it looks like an upgraded version of the old one. Better graphics, new units, better performance and customization, and online play is supposed to be much smoother.

The Super Smash Bros. Brawl site launched. Nothing much more than what was shown in the video is released however the demo song, an orchestrated version of Melee's menu song, sounds pretty awesome. All songs are supposed to be orchestrated and from the looks of the people they have working on it (they released a list), it should sound pretty awesome.

And now to school.

Only 9 academic days with 4 practice days! It's so close!

Alright, so school did a demonstration of drunk driving. Don't know if they did this for you before I came but it was huge. I mean it was ginormous. Alright, so Thursday morning, a Grim Reaper was walking around school. During 1st/2nd period, it went into (seemingly) random classrooms and picked out (seemingly) random students. Principal would then walk in, announce the student dead and read a eulogy. It was crazy, there was memorials everywhere so if you didn't see a student and/or the Grim Reaper leave, you had reason to believe the students were actually dead.

So 3rd comes and we're told to head to the front of the school, in front of the J building (the two-story one). So we're there, there's cop cars blocking off Los Robles along with more along the street and two white vans back to back. Everyone at this point guessed that it was a demonstration about drunk driving. At least I did.

Then the vans move.

My word it was a scene. Everyone stopped talking.

It was a car crash. With student's bodies hanging out windows/the windshield, fake blood, glass everywhere. The whole she-bang. And it pretty much took off from there. Surviving student gets out, calls 9-1-1, police come in, fire department comes in, ambulance comes in and the situation is assessed. This Russian dude was the driver that was DUI. It goes on, students are removed from the car, the Jaws of Life are used to rip off a door, students are actually helicoptered to a hospital (a helicopter circled and landed in the parking lots) and a coroner comes in to take the two students that died in the crash.

The next day was a follow-up assembly was held the next day, with a video covering the events plus stuff we didn't see and such. It was huge.

The home network was destroyed this weekend. I spent a good part of today and yesterday trying to fix the problem. I hate networking. It's a huge pain and burden if it ever breaks

Last week (since I never updated on that) I went and helped at the Special Olympics. That was, surprisingly, fun. Sure, all contestants weren't fully there in the head but that doesn't stop them from being cool and chill. There were a bunch of guys making fun of each other, everyone had smiles on and was happy to be there. This one dude in a wheelchair had spinners. That deserved a medal right there.

Finally, I received several scamming PMs this past week/two weeks. It's funny because I stall them in the most stupid ways while I get moderators to take care of them. I think there was only two but both of them tried to go after me at least twice on two different accounts. It was awesome.

So yeah, that's what's been up with me. Curse the series of tubes known as the Internet.

Those tubes can be bothersome, yeah, that demo was pretty big and really odd. It would have been funny had you deleted that girl from the roster.

That demo was one giant sinkhole for the school's money. They always compiling about how we don't have enough for everything and there they go spending it on something like that! D= Not to mention it messed up a lot of classes and this late in the year its hard to make up stuff. I wish they hadn't done it. And... during the assembly you kept poking me with your foot! OxO

My leg was asleep and it was hard to stretch without getting up or scooting back and bumping into the football people. D:

Mmm... true, true. They were staning in an akward area... well we were sitting in a rather weird place. If they knew there were going to be so many of us they should have split us up across the whole gym not smash us all on one half.

I say they should've given seniors the chairs while all the underclassmen cram into the stands and/or floor.
