Sorry I havent written in a while. Been preoccupied with other thing's. Today's rant is about winter, cold and flus. Why may you ask? Because here in New Zealand on the other side of the world it is nearing winter. Colds and Flus are already beginning to circulate and I am one of the first victims to succumb to this nasty virus.

At the minute I belong to a team of four at work. We're short staffed and working longer hours than we normally would to make up for it. Recently we've got a new person hired on. This brings our team up to five. Makes my part time job go back to being part time - four days - but also means everyone else, i.e the 2IC and the Manager, work longer days off roster because our wages are high. Doesn't help that the rest of them are suffering from the cold as well.

I'm well aware I should be making things easier for them. But I can't help feeling horrible - who wouldn't? And at work you just can't complain, rant or do anything to make your boss question your abilities. You just can't. So why is it, ever since I've worked in that cold supermarket environment, why have I come down with cold after cold? Why has my immune system become so bad that I haven't been able to shake this cold for over seven days now? It seems to be getting worse.

Four weeks ago now I came down with the first cold I'd had since last winter. It was over within the week. Reduced to pityful sniffles and sneezing, I was all right. Now, four week's later my immune system is under attack again. It's like in winter germs seem to attach to me like flies and make my life a living, breathing hell. When will it all end? Will I have to wait for summer again? Or will I be doomed to suffer for an eternity? Life, life truly sucks.
