Well Gaia's changed one heck of a lot since I was on in High School.

I frequent two forums. Extended Discussion and the Writers Forum. The writer's forum is actually the same as it was when I was in high school many years ago. The Extended Discussion seems to have a lot of trolls inhabiting it. They don't like intelligent debates. They don't like discussing pre-history or pre-historic technology and how it got that far. They debunk anyone with the slightest bit of intelligence.

Next I popped into the Gaia Towns. Apparently you can get gold from shaking the trees, rocks, and bushes which you never used to be able to do when it first came out all those years ago. You can still get insects, and trade them for ink. You can even fish just the same. The towns, however, remain the same. There are more items, and there are thousands more people than there used to be. I find something new for my avatar every day. I change her look frequently, and now intend to save up for some new, cool items.

Everything I knew about Gaia before had changed. So now, sitting here, I realise that once again playing might have it's benefits after all. The only thing that really bothers me is the amount of trolls let loose in the forums I frequent. The only bit of advice I can offer is that the admins frequent these forums and don't solely rely on the other players to nark on them.

This is only my first entry, there will be more to come. My next rant will definitely not be about Gaia. My next rant may or may not be slightly more exciting. We'll just have to see.
