Hmmm... so as the story goes, I'm not feeling too well today. And it just so happens that I found a poem that I had written years ago. It made me feel... better, worse? I can't tell right now. It just made me think. So... enjoy the read.
Memory Of Heartache
What a disgrace I've become.
Your perfect angel fallen from grace.
Torn apart by a stranger.
It makes you think less of me.
Your loyalty has fled, it remains only a memory.
It only signals my premature demise.
I could've gotten away if I had wanted to.
Could've escaped from death and decay.
But you are my tempter.
I remain with you.
Catching every word you said.
How could I have been so blind?
Deceitful monster! Horrid beast!
My love is just an image of the past.
Yet it still has value.
My soul, stripped bare.
I hold onto your picture.
Imagining our embrace.
Remembering the fatal twist of a dagger in my flesh.
Caressing the memory of your blood and tears.
Your pain, your suffering,
You gave it all to me.
Now that I am gone, away from your presence,
My life seems forced.
If I didn't have the hands of so many,
Pushing at my back,
I would have fallen backwards,
Into my nightmarish thoughts.
If my mind didn't remember to make me breathe,
I would suffocate,
Dragged back into my mental catacombs.
Dreaded are the tears that come,
Each day to my weary eyes.
Taunts from everyone that keep me nearly sane.
No ending will come to my story.
Should I use your razor for my benevolent end?
It's your memory that truly drives me on.
I live each day, to remember your face.
To suffer a bit more, to test my sanity.
Constant anger, I fear, is thrown in my face.
My faults, my mistakes.
Is this how you felt?
"Suicidal thoughts of silence, my dear..."
You once said that to me.
I understand it now.
Everything that was done to you.
Would I have been the same way?
Demented, disturbed, hateful and blind.
I could've gotten away from you,
If I had wanted to,
I guess I didn't look away fast enough.
It makes little sense, unless you're me, of course....
