Last month, a co-worker told me the inside scoop that there's an opening for an admin job up in Environment because the previous girl got the boot (which I find extremely shocking because I've met her before and she's a great gal). Anyway, the co-worker suggested that I apply for the position before it's even posted on the career board. So, I did.
At the same time, my male supervisor hinted that he'll be posting for a technical assistant in the near future. My female supervisor keeps showering me with praise and giving me great references to my supervisor. So he's convinced now that I'd be a great asset to the team. What he didn't know is that I've also applied to the position up in Environment. ninja I didn't tell him because it's none of his business really.
Two weeks later, I got an interview for Environment. That I had to tell my super because the interview was scheduled during my work hours. Interestingly enough, I told him about my interview the same day that another co-worker informed everyone that she's resigning. lol. It's like one bomb dropped after another. xd My super had time to gather his thoughts and told me that he'll push really hard to get me hired with his team before Environment has time to wrap up the interviews.
So I went to the interview last week, and I didn't hear from HR til two days ago. Turns out I didn't get that job, but I was so freakin' relieved to hear those words! rofl After the interview, I learned that position is an admin assistant for the entire group of 20 people. That's not what I had in mind, so that scared me off. Glad it worked out that way. xd
While I was waiting to hear from HR, my super posted the office support position. He didn't want to go through that whole process, but he's obligated to do so. I had to apply for it even though I'm currently working that position. Anyway, my super decided to skip the entire interview process and selected me right off the bat. Now I've got to go to an HR interview on Wednesday.
