This is Hopeless

I'm left in the dark and I can't find my way home
The only light is from afar and I can't reach it
I keep moving leaving my tracks in the snow
And yet I seem to be going in circles

I made a mistake now I'm paying for it
I'm lost and alone
I can't see the light for I'm too far down
I'm in a cave with no end

My heart is bruised and scarred
I'm in a hopless state
I can't seem to escape it
Almost like fate has caught me
And won't let me go

I put my trust into the wrong thing
And now I'm lost in the darkening woods
Where will I go now?
I fell helpless and now give up on finding my way
Back to the light that everyone desires so

Will I keep falling deeper into the dark?
Is it really all that hopeless?
Am I just lost in the eternity of the dark?
Will I find my way out?

I doubt it
This is hopeless...
