A child rested silently in its crib as the sky outside stormed and raged in its own buisness which no one could truly understand. The blanket snugged up against the small body it sheltered from the cold as soft breathing made a small chest rise and fall in a rhymic pattern that has been so since time began. The baby rolled to the left and the blanket slightly fell to the right uncovering the small creature slightly. The baby shivered and reached its small hand towards the blanket though couldn't quite grasp the blanket and started to slowly become colder and colder.
Suddenly the wind blew harshly, knocking the window open sending a shower of glass to fall from the pane and crash to the floor in silvery shards. The baby woke up startled and a cry was about to find its way from the strong lungs that held it and errupt from the small mouth but a slimey hand covered the young child's mouth. Instinctive fear filled the child and it thrashed and moved as much as its newly born body could. The creature who held the child's mouth shut slowly slipped another slimey hand towards the blanket and wrapped it around the baby. Muddy brown eyes shined in the dark above the crib.
