Aurora lifted her head up and saw Baron's confused and worried face and a wave of feeling safe washed over her body.
"Are you alright Aurora?" he asked her as he gently scooped her up into his arms.
She nodded and nuzzled into his chest.
He smiled then his eyes trailed down to her stomach and he looked at her questioningly, "Did he...?" he couldn't finish his sentence.
"No this is our baby," she kissed his cheek softly.
He smiled then slowly kissed her on the lips.
Soon they were home and Aurora was laying in bed propped up on pillows. David and Armadeo kept staring at her stomach. One time David lightly tapped her stomach and backed away. But Aurora caught his hand and placed it firmly on her belly. She laughed when he gasped in surprise when he felt something kick against his hand. It hurt her feelings though when Armadeo kept his distance from her.
"You sure became a star now." Baron whispered while holding her close in bed.
"Yes I know." she giggled as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"So have you thought of any names for the baby yet?" he asked softly as he stroked her belly.
"Not yet hun. I was saving the name for us to decide together." she lovingly placed her hand on top of his.
"Cool." he kissed her.
She returned the kiss then smiled up at him, "Baron?" she nearly whispered.
He replied, "Yes?"
She looked at the pillow by her head a bit coyly. "Did I ever tell you today that I loved you?"
"No," he looked at her curiously.
"Well," she paused for a moment, "I love you."
Baron laughed then looked at her with eyes full of love, "I love you too."
Suddenly a loud crash echoed through the house and David cursed loudly. Aurora clung tightly to Baron in shocked fear. He put his arms around her and gently held her. He softly stroked her cheek to calm her down. She looked up at him, fear dancing in her eyes. He gently pushed her down onto the bed and kissed her cheek.
"Stay here baby, I'm gonna go check it out." he kissed her and left before she could protest.
Aurora stayed in the room with her arms folded over her chest. She stared at the door, waiting impatiently for his return. Her eyes began to droop as she grew tired of waiting for what seemed like hours.
"Aurora?" she heard her name but she couldn't see who was calling to her.
Her eyes snapped open and looked around. She saw Baron sitting next to her with something furry in his lap.
She looked up at him. "What did you bring here today?"
He laughed then held up the furry object so she could see it. "It's a puppy and she's my gift to you."
"Oh wow! She's so beautiful! I always wanted a husky when I was little! O thank you, thank you, thank you!" she cried out in one breath and hugged him tightly.
"Your welcome. So you really like your present huh?" he whispered in her ear as he teased her neck with his fangs gently.
She giggled then nodded while taking the puppy from him and holding her against her chest. The puppy looked up at her with icy blue eyes and started to lick Aurora's face. She laughed and tickled the white patch of fur on her chest.
"I think I will name her Leara." she said as she petted the puppy.
"I like that name." Baron rested his forehead against hers.
Four months passed in a whirl of fun and work. Aurora looked out the window of the new play room for the baby and saw Baron playing with Leara on the lawn. She smiled at them and when Baron looked up they waved to eachother. Life felt so good right now and she was very happy.
She headed towards the door but stopped when she saw Armadeo standing there. She looked down and saw a long knife in his hand. She stumbled back in fear and stared up at him as he advanced towards her. She was reminded of the horrible night that she was nearly raped only worse.
