The Writings of Druki
This journal contains stuff that has happened to me either in Gaia or in RL.
Frick, he only has a week left. D:
Darnit, next Saturday my family (myself included) is going to Utah to drop off my brother. Which is sad because then I won't see him for two years. And I'm going to be lost and alone and stuck with his chores as well. D:

Finals this week. Should be easy with the exception of Psychology. Maybe.

O___O 2 years? Oh my. D: Will you be able to talk to him still? And just not see him? Or have no contact?

We will not be permitted to see him at all. Contact is limited to e-mail if he gets it in Uruguay. If not, then we'll be writing letters to him. He only gets a phonecall home on Mother's Day and Christmas.

For one, they're supposed to be focused on preaching the gospel and doing His work. Two, even if we could see him, it wouldn't be affordable. sweatdrop As for the phonecalls, same reason as the first. If he could call everyone, many of the missionaries would be focused on the girlfriends they left home and such.

Okay, Christmas makes sense to me, that's a family-type holiday in addition to being religiously significant. But...why Mother's Day? Despite being so close to Utah, I know next to nothing about this kind of thing, and I really don't think anything I learned from Orgazmo should count as anything approaching fact. sweatdrop

So they can call their mothers? Let's face it, if any one person has to be decided that has had the most impact on your life (not to mention the one person that would miss you the most), it would probably be your mother. Probably, because there's always exceptions to every rule.

It could very equally be Father's Day, but I think the rule "Ladies first" applies in this scenario.
