Kalt awoke, still exausted, near the ocean shore. His eyes hurt, but for once, he felt as if he had a good rest. The sun still hung high in th sky, but Jenny was gone and Ice stood again knee deep in the tide. I stood up and looked around for Jenny, but to no avail. Then, I rolled up my pants and walked into the water with Ice. "You know," he said looking towards the horizon, "I havent seen the ocean in so long..." It was a marvelous sight. The sun's ray's were hitting the water perfectly so that the water sparkled and reflected it's brilliant light back at us. I looked down the shore and saw that the entire bay curved into a crescent shape. Upon looking closely, I saw a tiny tower of smoke rising from above the trees on that side of the beach.

"Hey, Ice, look." He saw it and looked back at me with a confused expression, "Wonder who could be there? Lets go check." After some moderate convincing (and a blow to the head), I made Ice remain behind to watch Lok and Eva. Two unprotected bodies laying on the shore of a beach...any demon might get the wrong idea. I drew my sacred blade and proceded down the beach, watching evermore as the sun began to dissapear behind the invisible line that was the sea. As I began to walk, a familiar red glow began following me through the tip's of the palm trees. Lerion was again following me. "You know," I said calmly, "you promised to help me out, so why dont you come down here and tell me what you saw in my dream." Lerion apperaed at my side, his one-head-higher-than-me height still opposing mine. "You detected my presence in your dream with Soma?" "Well, it wasnt that hard...you have a very distinct scent, even in my dreams."

As we walked, Lerion spoke to me of his adventures in finding the three legendary race blades. Apparently, long ago, three friends, a lycan, a vampire, and a human, lived together in harmony. Their bond in friendship grew so strong, they were able to embed it upon their waepons as a token of their love for one another. However, upon the blessing of the bond upon the swords, they all realised that their swords grew to have special powers, only able to unleash when the friends were one in spirit and rage. They grew so powerful, they defeated the enemies of their lands and issued in an era of peace. Then, 10 years later, the friends grew bitter and were torn apart by the power of the swords. However, upon the diminishing of their friendship, the bond was broken and the swords returned to their normal state. They had all believed that until ones with friendships greater than theirs came along, the swrods could never be reactivated and they hid them away. The vampires, messengers of night, hid their sword in a shrine to the goddess of the moon, where humans could not enter. The lycans, loyal and brave fighters, released the spirit of the sword to the earth, only to be given to the strongest of their race. The humans, masters of hatred and greif, did the most foolish of things. The swords temptation became so powerful over the race of man, war broke out and thousands of men, women, and children were slaughtered mercillesly. The sword was passed from vilage to village until it vanished from under the eyes of man and was lost to memory."That sword could be anywhere..." I said in curiosity. "Actually, the swords have not been found for generations. You are the first to recover the sword of your race and that is why Drance wants it so badly. If he is able to possess all three swords at once,..."

Lerion began telling me about the Rain of Midnight. Apparently, if all three swords were held by a vampire, werewolf, or human at one time, the powers would cancel each other out and the swords would unleash darkness upon the world, killing almost everyone known to this planet. The only one garunteed to live would be the race of the person who holds the swords at the moment of the apoclypse. "Heavy." I muttered. "Drance wants this to be an all vampire would then, huh?" "It is true, Drance may be using this legend to bring fourth and evil plan to ruin the world, but it may be just a consequence to his lust for power." Suddenly, Lerion went rigid and stopped breathing. He blinked and his changed into Soma's. "Kalt! Get back! The girls are coming! Raven and Aruna!" "Why would I not want to see them?" I asked. "Drance has them! They're not themselves! If you dont want to kill them, run away!"

Just then, an arrow landed between my legs and I saw them. Aruna and Raven descended from a nearby tree and I was sprayed with more arrows. Aruna drew a blade and the light from the reflection gave her possession by Drance meaning. her face was dull in expression, her mouth hanging anf her eyes wide. She essentially had no expression and neither did Raven. Lerion drew an imageinary scythe from nowhere and turned to me, "Remember when I said I'd help you? Now's one of those times." The sun had finally set and a full moon began rising in the distance. I drew my blade and watched as the sun set...and too my horror discovered that a white orb gained its place. A familiar surge of rage entered my body but this rage different...more powerful. I found myself not shrinking or falling on my hands and knees. I stood on my hind legs, my hands became lethery and clawed and I felt a bushey tail grow from between my legs. My eyes lightened and the ears popped out of my head. I had essentially looked like Lok...But I managed to keep my armor and clothes on.

I stil held the glowing blue balde in my hand as it resonated it's holy light. "Soku...I can still speak. I'm growing stronger." "Tis' the will of the balde, my fine, furry, friend." He said, patting my shoulder. I felt and uncontrollable power as I lunged towards my poor friends. Aurna drew a sword and blocked my strike. The sword glistned in the moonlight a terrible glow. That glow...the sword was forged of silver. I backed away growling as she assumed a stance and lunged at me. I parried and attempted a slash, but she blocked it again. She was not herself. Her swordsmanship riavled mine.

As we clashed and held our swords, testing each others stregnth, I looked to the side and saw Soma/Lerion dodging arrows and attempting to eliminate raven with the reach of his scythe. Aruna broke away and lunged again and missed, leaving herself open for an easy attack. As she missed her stab, time seemed to slow as I were toselect my next move. I felt an urge to annihilate her, but couldent kill her because she was my friend. I couldent let her die, for her blood would be on my hands/paws. I felt the urge pass and punched he in the chest making her stagger backward. Then, my feral side overtook me as I watched helplessly as my sword connected with Aruna's flesh. Then, My feral side died down...all too late. My sword stuck thourgh her heart and she looked up at me. "Kalt, I-" She leaned backwards and died upon my blade. "Soma! STOP! Dont kill her!" Soma/Lerion jumped forward dodging yet another arrow and elbowed Raven in the chest. She too staggered back and Soma/Lerion lunged and delivered a punch to her face. Raven fell a few feet away, obviouslt knocked out.

I kneeled down in front of Aruna and felt the tears pass by my eyes. Soma/Lerion kenneld down too and put his hand over her face. "Kalt. I'm afraid she Is'nt clean of the evil the Drance bestowed upon her. I have to take her now." My ears fell down as I began to howl. I couldent not feel bad abouy Aruna. As Soma/Lerion picked her up in his hands, he blinked and Soma and Aruna dissapeared. Lerion looked down at me and steped backwards, frightened. "Kalt? is that you? You look...uhh...furry." "This is new for me, and I know it's weird, but we need to go back. I cant go to any village like this. I dont want to go anywhere. We need to go back to Lok and the others now."

Lerion didnt argue with me in this form. He grabbed Raven and put her over his shoulder as we walked back to the place where Lok, Jenny, and Ice were sleeping already. Eva was sitting atop a nearby boulder. As she saw me come, she drew her bow and arrow and aimed for me. "You want me to die so bad? Kill me now then. I've killed another one of my friends as this beast. Sometimes...I wish this curse hadent been placed upon me. If you really think that by killing me, Eva, will help you sleep, then please." I jumped up on the rock and sat in front of her bow. "Damnit, you. You make yourself sound so innocent. You smell like blood; get away from me!" She said pushing me away. "Why do you hate my race so much, Eva? What did a werewolf ever do to you?" "Th-they killed my family...they slaughtered and ate them all...when I was 7. I can never...never forgive them!" She once again drew her bow and aimed it at my head. Then I did something I never thought I'd do again. I cried. I hung my head and begain crying, my long nose catching the tears that fell. "Im sorry I have this curse, Eva!" I jumped off the rock and lay in the sand beside the boulder. Lerion, sensing the tension tht was being built, once again vanished into the darkness, uttering the words, "I'll be back tommorow." Eva jumped off the boulder and crouched down next to me and began stroking my head. "I dont know who you are, and Im sorry I have this grudge, but I promise, I wont hold it aginst you." Eva jumped back on the rock, leaving me to think. I grew tired from the action I had just endavoured, and fell asleep.
