Book One: Chapter Four ~ Explanations
Aimay and Taneki stared in complete shock at the creature right in front of them. The little girl, on the other hand, moved forward towards the creature, and was lifted from the ground by a pair of hands on to the creature's shoulder. "Shibi, what is the meaning of bringing mortals here?" Asked the creature, then the creature opened it's eyes which glowed into a bright purple just like the little girl. "Sunoko, they- they can see me..." The girl pointed at Taneki and Aimay with a calm finger. Taneki and Aimay were still frozen in shock, and soon "The Shadow Kitten" stood up, and walked toward the two. She was an average size for an adult, and then the creature stopped right where the moonlight was. Aimay covered her mouth in surprise, and Taneki gasped and stood back.
The creature was beautiful... She had a long veil right on top of the long black hair that swept, and wore a dress that only reached down above her knees, with a loose belt that matched the rim of the veil. She had a long staff that was her exact height, that had a crescent moon with two clouds on the moon. "THEY can see you?" The creature said, the little girl jumped off of the creature's shoulder, and landed right on the ground in front of Taneki and Aimay. "They CAN see me Sunoko! They helped me while i was trying to get back here!" The creature was shocked at this, and came closer to Aimay and Taneki, and circled around them- examining them. "Well, they do look like one of us except they don't have these..." The creature pointed at her pointed ears and long thick tail that had a bow tied to the end of it with a bell. "I know but do you think they might be..." The little girl then froze, and Aimay and Taneki calmed down. "Hmmm..." The creature thought about something, and nodded. "You know what Shibi, you might be right..." The creature than sat on some ground and motioned Aimay and Taneki for a seat. Startled, they both sat right across the creature, and the little girl sat next to the creature.
"I'm only telling you this because in a way, I have some hope left..." The creature got herself comfortable and lowered her staff. 'Who ARE these people?' Taneki and Aimay thought at the same time. "And if you guys were wondering, my name is Sunoko, and this is Shibi, my messenger." Shibi then bowed, and Sunoko nodded. Taneki and Aimay blinked in surprise, but then regained themselves.
"I live in a world where there is war, a terrible and violent war that was never-ending..." Sunoko said, and Aimay and Taneki listened intently. "the war consists of TWO rival groups, there's us, the Nekokushu, the good. Then..." Sunoko paused as if in horror. "There's the Oshinomo, the group that wishes for rule in our world, and as if we heard... Yours." Aimay and Taneki looked at each other, then at Sunoko in shock, but Sunoko continued. "In the middle of the war, there were "The Elemental Keys" that separated the war... But that didn't stop the Oshinomo. Now, because of the war, there are only three of us Nekokushu, and only three of the Oshinomo left, and we stop at nothing." Sunoko then paused and looked at Aimay and Taneki with a smile, which gave an unsuspecting turn, for this was the first time they saw Sunoko smile. "We are looking for two missing keys that stopped the war, and they say that the keys are hidden here. Now The Oshinomo and The Nekokushu are looking, and searching for the two keys, they say if you possess the two of the keys, you shall become all powerful." The sun then rose up from the buildings, and Sunoko smiled again, and lift Shibi off the ground to her shoulder.
"Wait, if there's three on each group... Where is the third here?" Asked Aimay in interest, Sunoko looked at her in amusment. "The third you may meet tomorrow, until we meet again..." Sunoko turned around, but then skidded to a stop, all of a sudden Sunoko drew out her staff, and went to a battle position. "Run." Was all Sunoko said, but Aimay and Taneki froze. "I said run!" Sunoko yelled one more time. Aimay and Taneki turned and without hesitation- ran... Aimay looked back, and saw Sunoko.... fighting? It looked like Sunoko was fighting with two figures, and Shibi also, with a figure her size. "Aimay let's go!" Taneki then motioned Aimay in front of him, and Aimay, not looking back anymore ran as fast as she can. 'Who were those people? Why did Sunoko tell them this?' Aimay with even more questions then before, halted to a stop right in front of the house. Taneki and Aimay both knew that this wasn't a joke and they also knew that they would be apart of this...
