This will hopefully be the first of a few parts to a short story. I WANT you to tell me what you think. Post me, call me, comment, just tell me please. Well here it is, Part 1.

The path was clear and the gravel cruntched under her slippers as she walked. She looked over her shoulder at the brightly lit paths as she slipped farther into the unlit paths. She pulled her cloak closer about herself and continued on.

As she traveled down the unlit paths she heard rustling of bushes and crunch of gravel under unseen feet and she was becoming frightened. The wind shifted the strands of curls that had excaped and she subcontiously brushed them back. These paths were used by couples to arrange secret trysts. She blushed at the thought of what she was about to do.

She was meeting a man here, a man that she loved deeply but could not marry. She was engadged to marry a Spanish count in a month's time. She hated the match but her father would not hear of her marrying a man for love. He wanted her to marry for social positioning and the money that would be recieved for her dowery was large. She shuddered at the thought of marrying the count who was old enough to be her father and only wanted her for her position in society and the money that would come with her. She continued on and soon reached the meeting spot.

She looked around and saw no one. She called softly "Are you there?" She called a few more times and walked towards the trees. When she passed one a hand pulled her towards it, turning her towards it and she started to scream. It was stopped when she felt a pair of lips descend on hers and her hands came into contact with the fine linen of a man's shirt. She pulled back and looked into the shadows that the tree cast. She smiled when she recognized the strong jawed, high cheekboned face of her true love. She said "You made it." He said "I would never miss a chance to meet you, my love. Are you sure you want to go throught with this?" She bite her lip and looked down. She had been thinking about it and had her doubts but she was ready to go throught with it as agreed. She nodded and said "Yes, I wouldn't have it any other way. If I am to share the bed with a man for the first time I would rather it be you then that count. Simon, I don't want to marry that count." Simon pulled her closer and said "I would take you away from your family, I would love you for the rest of your life." She knew that was true, she had known from the moment she met him.

She pulled back and said "Are we going to do it here?" Simon said "No, I want to do it right. And keeping your honor intacked is the highest priority and I wouldn't run the risk of maybe your brother or father catching us here." Simon couldn't wait to be alone with her, she was so tempting. He felt her shudder in the cold and pressed her closer. He wanted to protect her from the evils of the world, but how could he do that when he was one. She has suggested this meeting and he had agreed. He wouldn't deny, if he was asked, that he wasn't welcoming the idea. He only thought of her and how special she was to him.

"Simon," came Marie's voice as if from a great distance. Simon tore his mind from the daydream and said "Yes." Marie said "Are we going to leave?" She looked nervous. He was too, but that was to be expected. He was taking what he had no right to claim, but she was there for the taking. Ripe and sweet, he wanted her all to himself. He nodded and said "Yes, if you are ready." Marie nodded and he took hold of her hand and they walked deeper into the paths and left by way of hack.
