I'm not a fan of Christmas. I loved Christmas because it meant I got to see family, but now the grandparents are gone, and everyone in my family is self-centered. If I did have the chance to see them now, I wouldn't want to. The grandparents were the best.

Now Christmas is just down to my parents and me. To be quite honest, it just feels like another day but with a tree inside. We tried to have my brother, his gf and my nephew one year, but it didn't quite workout. We don't get along too well, and of course since my mom plays favorites, i got the couch, while my brother got 1 room and his gf / fiance got the other. Why did they need 2 rooms? Then there was a lot of other stuff mixed into the week.

Today we are having guests over for a small Christmas get together but it kind of just feels like the guests are just squeezing us into their schedule, since they have a Christmas party tonight. But sometimes I feel like 2 hours is just enough with guests/friends. So I don't know.

New Years isn't much different. It's just the 3 of us and we stay home now. We used to go to the Cabin but we sold it a few years ago right before the pandemic...or perhaps when it just started.
