I opened my eyes slowly and looked at my watch..."Oh, dear God!" I shouted. 2:15 PM! Thats the first time we've overslept! Was I really that tired? I got out of bed, got dressed and ran into the front room. Jenny and Ice were still asleep too! This was weird...Ive never overselpt. I went over to the window and opened the curtains. Its was cloudy and heavilly snowing.

"No!" I yelled. Snow would make this journey off this hunk of ice all the more difficult. I shut the curtain as Ice let out a heavy yawn from behind me. "Is it morning already?" he asked sleeplly. "Ice, its 2:17 PM. I wouldent count it as morning still." "WHAT?!?!?!" He jumped off the couch and ran to our dresser. Luckilly, Lok and I had called the best bedroom in the house before Jenny or Ice could. It was sort of the cream of the crop of the suite, although it was still unkempt as no one could have been there to clean it for years. Ice slammed the door to our bedroom, causing a very cranky Lok to give Ice a few pointers on waking him up. Like for instance, Pointer #1, Dont.

After lisitning to Lok's constant shouting, and Ice's Pleading of "Im sorry! Look at the time!", I wondered where Jenny was. Her bed on the couch was empty. I walked into the hallway to see her crouched on the ground looking at something. I walked over to her and she turned and put her finger to her lips, motining me to be quiet. She crouched over a small white cat who sat on the ground looking up at her. "I've never seen her around here before..." Jenny said. "Well, its just a cat. Leave it alone." I wasnt trying to be cruel, I just didnt like cats. Not because of the whole different races thing, but because I was never really a cat person, even before the blizzard. I grabbed Jenny's hand and dragged her back to the room, leaving the cat there to sit. I pushed her inside and looked back out at the cat.

"Jenny, i want to do something...but I dont know if you would like it..." I said still staring at the cat. "Wait a second...Kalt, your not saying..." "All Im saying, Jenny, is that I dont like cats." "But it's just a poor little..." She never got to finish her sentence, as i slammed the door shut and chashed after the cat. After I had made it half way, it turned tail and ran down the hall. "Damn, your pretty fast." I said losing sight of it. I found it standing at a door that had been blown open labled "EMERGENCY STAIRWELL".

It ran through the doorway and up the flights and flights of stairs, me not close behind. We ran and ran until we hit the roof and I had the thing cornered. But something strange had happened when i reached the top floor. The cat was sitting in front of me with a cheap smile on her face. "What have you got to smile about?" "Your such a moron!" The cat said. My eyes widned as I saw the cat transfrom into a small, 13-year old, girl. She had white hair and wore a black cap. She wore a black shirt that had a white star on the chest, along with a grey, worn, jacket. She also had a white miniskirt with netted stockings, ending in black and white shoes.

"Well," I said."This pisses me off. Stupid half breed." "You should talk, Lycan!"she said in a i-dont-care-what-you-say kind of tone. "its your fault for following me up here! All i wanted was a bit of food, and you gotta come chasing after me! What did I do that was so wrong?" "You could have revealed that you were-" All of a sudden, Jenny burst through the roof door and tackled me to the ground. "Bad! We like guests!" she said sitting on my back. "What am I? Your dog?" "You would be if you put this on" She said pulling the collar out of nowhere and fastening it to my neck. "Jenny! Get it off of me!" "You relax!" She pushed my face deep into the fresh snow that had accumuliated at the top of the building. Shes a girl, I said to myself, we cant hit girls...but I wanted to so bad...

"Anyway," she said smiling to the girl, "Where'd the kitty go? Have you seen a little white kitty around here?" I tried to say 'she is the kitty!' but all that came out was "Fche isfhfa kiffy!" "Be quiet!" she said pusing my face deeper in the snow. Oh jenny...im gonna kill you..."No, " the little girl said " I am that cat. The blizzard gave me the ability to transform. I must say its quite useful, even for someone as dog-brained as him" "SHUTUP!" I said throwing Jenny off of me and lunging at the girl. But this time, another tackler jumped and threw me back in the snow. Sitting on my back this time, was Lok. "Like the collar,"he said, "it suits you." I had no chance of moving this time. Lok's weight and stregnth greatly surpassed mine, so I threw the only thing i could at him, a comeback. "You should get one too. Im sure Jenny's got more." "Aww, shut your trap. You dont go chasing after a little girl like that anyway""But she wasnt a girl! She was-" Once again, I ate snow.

"Well, now that we have someone under control," the girl said "My name is Aiyu. Ive been living here as a cat for sometime trying to find something to eat. I havent been too successful." "Oh! So you came downstairs for food!" Jenny said. "Yes, sorry if I disturbed anyone-" I winced "-but I really was hungry, and I cant stay here alone." "Well, Are you a half breed?" Lok asked. Oh god no. He wasnt thinking... "Why, yes. I guess I am." "Then your coming with us" "LOK YOU MORON!" I shouted. "Oh, well, I guess you dont have to bring me..." Aiyu said. God-damned reverse psychology..."Fine," I said. "There, was that so hard?" Jenny said standing over me. "Yes, it was." I said coldly. I ripped off the collar and threw it on the ground in front of her, then turned and walked back downstairs soaking wet. I reached our room and went and sat on the couch. Ice had fallen back asleep on the other couch, so I came in quietly. Why did Lok have to bring every half-breed? I waited and dryed for awhile, until Lok, Jenny, and Aiyu entered. I tryed to get up and walk into another room, but Lok grabbed me and threw me back on the couch. Jenny and Aiyu walked over to me and sat down next to me. Jenny held up the ripped collar. "You know," she said " It took me forever to find a whole crate of these" "Well," I said "Mabey if you didnt...wait a second, did you say a whole crate?" She got up and walked inot the kitchen and pulled out a large wooden box, filled to the brim with black collars. "Apparently, the hotel was allowed to have pets." she said with an evil smile that Lok and Aiyu were both wearing. It could only mean one thing. Majority rules, she was gonna make me wear one, and Lok and Aiyu would help. "Ha ha! No, Kalt. I would never make you wear this!" She said putting the collars away. "Its only your decision to wear one. No ones gonna make you." I was relieved." Well, we have to stay here another night" Lok said "The snows going to pose a problem, but I dont think it'tl stop us." "Right." I said. I checked my watch. It was already 6:08 PM. We took the rest of the night trying to get to know each other, improvised for dinner on ham and vegtables, then all went to bed.

I lay in my bed thinking, what was going to happen? I didnt like this girl, and what had made me oversleep? The thoughts drifted away as i slowly fell asleep.
